Ex-Flames, who finished with one career point for Calgary (and ahead of Setoguchi) -- Sasha Lakovic, Rico Fata, Dallas Eakins, Greg Nemisz.

Pat Steinberg@Fan960Steinberg4m4 minutes ago

@darrenwhaynes I bet Setoguchi would be a better coach than Eakins, though. #zing

Maybe. They are playing Comeau in their top 6, so they might think Setoguchi would be an upgrade. His 750K contract might be attractive to Pittsburgh as well.

I think he clears though.

Bolig isn't going anywhere.
He was in the Flames Christmas Sweater video for crying out loud.

I am a little disappointed at the vitriol by some fans surrounding Setoguchi. Don't get me wrong, I am glad that the franchise is moving on, but I wish Setoguchi nothing but the best.
I understand what you're saying, but it was obvious from watching him in Winnipeg that he had lost it. Jets fans couldn't wait to get him off of their team. No other team wanted to sign him, its not like the Flames just got to him first.

He was utterly useless, but I agree with the thought that if our lineup was healthy he would have been put on waivers long ago. The Flames gave him every chance and more to break out of this "slump" or whatever it is he is doing.

Like I said, it's not my $750,000.00 that got shelled out for sweet F all, that's the owners money. I'm just glad I will no longer have to watch him stumbling around killing plays in a Flames jersey anymore, getting ice time he never deserved.

Unfortunately for Setoguchi I doubt he plays even one more game in the NHL. Just not good enough. Hopefully he can have a good career in a 2nd tier league like the KHL.

Too bad - this guy had such great potential and great skills, but only when at the peek of his abilities. When he was in the zone, he was flat out dangerous.

He's always been a favorite of mine. I loved the stories of his rookie season living with his buddy Torey Mitchell at (newly humbled) Jeremy Roenick's house. The kids seems to remind Roenick about the exuberance of youth and he had one more really good season before the end.

Good luck Seto...

Flames have confirmed Jones is coming off IR.

Guessing paper transaction is coming up.

Good news for whoever it is, because of thanksgiving week they probably don't have to fly out before the paper transaction is back

edit:

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Jones back in for the #Flames tonight. Sounds like Knight re-assigned to AHL, but could be back once Setoguchi clears waivers or is claimed.

I wouldn't mind switching Knight out for someone else on the farm, he hasn't looked great to me.

That is pretty grim company.

Can't say that I agree. Based on his limited time on the ice that I saw, he was using his body well and was pretty strong on his skates against the Ducks. Like what I saw. Needs a few more games to feel comfortable, but I think he'll only get better.

Nobody can say that the Flames didn't give Setoguchi a legitimate chance. It would have been easy to do this after game 10. To his credit, Seto also played pretty hard. Sad to see Seto's career look like it is coming to an end. Hopefully some other team claims him, but that is doubtful.

Won 9 out of 11 face-offs he's been involved in in the last 2 games. Reinhart won 6 of 29 in 4 games as a comparison. I personally don't think you can understate how important Knights skill in the dot is.

He's a 4th liner who has played 9 games in the NHL up till this point. He is 2 games into his NHL season this year. What were you expecting exactly? Can't keep switching players in and out on a whim. We have depth, but not that much depth.

I was a little surprised by him being on this list. I didn't expect him to have huge numbers, but he played on the Flames on and off for 3 seasons (only 27 games in total though), and only managed a single point? Yikes.

Hey, Flames had a Serb on the team. Neat. By the sounds of things, a useless player, but still neat.
