Too little too late. Shades of years past when the Flames would turn it on near the end of the game and it left you wondering what could have been if they put forth a full effort.

Getzlaf and Perry are beasts. Best duo in the league IMO.

Skates are sharp for one. I'm always amazed people want this. Kicking is soccer, hockey is stick and puck. Yeah things can bounce in, but the goal has to come from the stick.

Why can't guys fall down in the crease and throw a loose puck in the net?

Can't keep playing catch-up all the time... it'll screw us like it did tonight.

Generally a better game than we played last week. Hiller really needs to be better. The team can't always be trying to bail out the goalie after a weak one.

2 kicked pucks have counted against us this season due to the new leniency on the kicking rule. But ours doesn't count, of course. Pisses me right off how things seem to work that way.

Give me a break, Johnny kicked it in whether he meant to or not, that was a good call. Can't really complain about the refs tonight, this might have been the best called game I've seen all season. And I'm not one to praise refs Lots of rosy coloured glasses in here tonight. It's the goddamn curse! Give Anaheim some credit

Goalie policy should be "play one until they let in a stinker and then switch for next game".

Well on the plus side, the Flames can keep up to the Ducks. That's actually a huge positive.

The bad news, too many breakdowns by this team and the goaltending isn't helping lately and making things harder then it should be.

This is a good lesson for the Flames, they've been the cardiac kids but they can't keep spotting teams multipoint leads.

Reload and go to San Jose.

So proud of this team. Even in defeat we earn plaudits. This game wasn't like we were dire for the first 2 periods and eventually turned up in the 3rd. We played as well as can be expected in the first 50 minutes and once we got the goal, we got real jump and once we did, the Ducks in shut down mode barely shut us down.

Yes some of the players made mistakes, but this is still a young and learning group. The likes of Granlund, Jooris, Ferland and Johnny will learn loads from playing against such a big physical team. Chuffed that we managed to get 2 goals and some points on the board too. Brodie back on the points trail with 2, Gio with another assist, Hudler, Glencross and Monahan also chipping in.

Outstanding effort tonight. Providing fatigue doesn't kick in, I really fancy our chances against San Jose tomorrow. These next 5 games will define our season I think. San Jose twice, Arizona twice and Colorado. If we play like we did tonight, we'll get some wins out of those lot. Well done Flames, well done.

I'm pretty happy with that performance overall.

Lots of good showings from our young guys, and key players.

It didn't work out, but this season isn't about wins and losses for me. It's about good showings from young guys and key players.

So it would have been nice to break the curse, but honestly, I enjoyed that game a lot.

Because it's hockey and the object of the game is to score using your stick.

That was unfortunate. The Flames actually played a pretty good game overall against one of the best teams in the league currently. They were definitely the victim of some awful bounces, but that third goal let in by Hiller was an absolute back breaker...

This team nearly came back against an elite team down 3 goals with 9 minutes to go on the road.

We lost tonight but i'm still smiling

Time to ride Ramo. He looked good late in the game against the Devils. Just need him to be solid. Doesn't have to stand on his head, but just make the timely saves.

I'm gonna bet burned, but that IMO was as obvious a kick as I've seen in quite a while.

I'm Impressed! Sure we lost and that sucks. Anaheim needed some lucky bounces, little bit of bad goaltending, and maybe some officiating on the Gaudreau no goal to win.

They are an elite team, they worked for that win and were lucky to get it.

We cant win every game but we sure as hell can try. Great effort boys.

But if you're in front of the net and the defenseman has your stick tied up I honestly don't know why you can't kick it in. Especially if it's relatively incidental.

I highly doubt there's any more risk of getting injured from kicking the puck into the net than there is falling ass over tea kettle and getting an errant skate.

Plus, it's not easy to kick with skates on anyway...lol...

Brodie with his 5th goal of the season, setting a new personal high!

In fact, the last time Brodie had more than 5 goals in any season of hockey anywhere was 2008-09 in the OHL!
