He has played well below the very low bar I set for him. I can't figure out what it is - he seems to have effort, people who look at practices say he's actually good in them. Yet he doesn't even get good chances, let alone produce anything. This is a guy who is one season removed from over .5 PPG, and even in his worst year (last year) had 11 goals and 27 points. He was at over 20 GPG every year except last (incuding two in Minnie - so it wasn't just from getting fed Thornton passes).
Maybe it's fitness, but that's hard to beleive on a Hartley team. And if he wasn't in shape Hartley would not give him the time of day, let alone what he's been getting. It doesn't seem to be attitude - I haven't heard anything. Confidence? Maybe, but if so, I say let him work it out elsewhere.
I thought it was a no risk signing. But it's only no risk if you are prepared to cut him loose. And I've been one of the posters here most willing to give him chances. I still say he's a better hockey player than Bollig, and has had about as many "not horrible" games than Sven (but one less good one, since Sven had one very good game). But the investment is far less than with either of those guys.
