Battle of Alberta - Part 4 in 2014. Stampeders won all 3 games against the rival from the north Edmonton Eskimos. Stamps won 26 - 22 on Week #5, the only game QB Mike Reilly started against the Stamps this season. Reilly completed 19 passes on 34 attempts for 212 yards. I think Reilly stat and the score was deceiving because I believed this is the game where the Stamps dominated early in the game but they let the Eskimos come back late in the game. Stamps also defeated the Eskimos in a home and home Labour Day Classics series 28-13 at home on Labour Day and 41-34 in Edmonton.
Stampeders will be getting some of their key players back in the lineup. RB Jon Cornish, the leading rusher in the CFL will be back in the lineup. He rushed 34 times for 272 yards against the Eskies this season. WR Maurice Price will be also be back in the lineup after missing the last game against BC Lions. Rumour has it is rookie WR Eric Rogers who caught 2 TD passes against BC is going to dress for the game. Joe West sitting?? RB/Returner Jock Sanders will not play on Sunday due to an injury.
OFFENSE :
QB Bo Levi Mitchell had the best touchdown to interception ratio in the CFL. He threw ion 22 touchdown passes and only surrendered 8 interceptions. IN 2 games against the Stampeders, BLM was 46/82 for 592 yards with 2 TD. Stamps' passing is 7th best in the CFL and they will play against the top ranked pass defense. SB Marquay McDaniel was awesome last game against BC, his first game back after recovering from injury. He will need to repeat that performance on Sunday. McDaniel played all 3 games against the Eskies this season and he caught 10 passes for 184 yards and 1 TD. SB Nik Lewis is ging back in the loneup after sitting out the last game. He too will be count on for his leadership and performance on Sunday. Offensive Line will have a tough battle against the Eskimos DLine (Willis, Sewell and others). Stamps OLien proved over and over that they can play against even the toughest defense in the league. This game will not be any different I think.
DEFENSE :
DE Shawn Lemon recorded 8 tackles, 3 QB sacks and 2 forced fumbles in 3 games against the Eskimos. DE Charleston Hughes is still questionable and there is a possibility he won't play. He is a game day decision. There is a possibility that DB Brandon Smith might have the task of covering Bowman or Fred Stamps. Against the Eskimos this season, he recorded 17 tackles, 1 qb sack, 1 pass knockdown and one forced fumble. Our secondary need to stop Bowman and Stamps all game. MLB Juwan Simpson will have the task of limiting RB John White on Sunday.
SPECIAL TEAM :
Looks like Sederrick Cunningham will be in the lineup in place of Jock Sanders, who will sit due to injury. K Rene Paredes was perfect last game vs BC Lions and that should help him boost his confidence. Special team coverage have been playing well in the last few games and it needs to continue and stop Lawrence.
******************************************** Game Time : Sunday, November 23rd at 2:30pm at McMahon Stadium Televised : TSN, ESPN3
According to weather forecast, we will have a nice weather on Sunday and it will be +1 and no snow.
I am so pumped for this game and I can't wait.
GO STAMPS GO!!!

According to the depth chart : DE Charleston Hughes, SB Nik Lewis, Returner Sederrick Cunningham, WR Eric Rogers, WR Joe West, WR Maurice Price and RB Jon Cornish are playing tomorrow in the Western Final.
Good to hear and hopefully the Sackmaster is even close to 100% healthy. We also have speed and height on wideout this game with Rogers, Price and West. I am getting pumped now.
“@SUNMitchell: Charleston Hughes is in. Mo Price is in. Joe West is in. Eric Rogers is in. Jabari Arthur is the odd man out at receiver. #CFL”

normally I am nervous as hell about Stampeder playoff games (mostly because I have lived way way to many failures)...but I have zero doubts about this game....Stamps win easy I think.

A healthy Reilly and I'd be a bit more worried. His "legend" as Rod Black unsurprisingly dramatically coined, after scoring 0 points in almost 2 quarters of plays last week, doesn't grow if hes got a foot injury. I don't see Nichols coming in and being the 2014 version of Jason Maas either.
I was at those WSF in the mid 2000s when the dominant regular season Stamps lost to EDM and Sask due to Renyolds fumbling away those two games; they'd have to play that bad, and a healthy Reilly would have to take apart the Stamps D.
Anything can happen in one game, but, with decent weather, it would have to be an epic meltdown as the Stamps are more or less superior in most positions, given Reilly's injury.
Good weather + speed + Cornish = big plays in the vertical passing game. With the Esks likely keying on Cornish, BLM could have a big day with Price, West and Rogers stretching the field.

The fact that I feel so confident about this game is making me nervous.

That's not some sort of weird tailgate euphemism, is it?
Go Stamps go!

Everything the Stamps have done this year has been done in preparation for today. The whole season doesn't matter if they don't win today. I think it will be a fairly close game, but Calgary should take it without too much trouble
My only real concern is Mike Reilly's ability to take off and run with the ball. The Esks really feed off him running, not sliding but diving head first all over the field, he is their fearless leader but is his foot good enough for him to do that?
The Stamps are also known for pissing games like this away. Sure their opponents have played well in these games but more often than not the Stamps beat themselves with a lot of turnovers and stupid penalties...will we see that again today? I don't think so because this Stamps team has a very different feel to it.
“@johngaudreau03: Good luck to the @calstampeders today! #GreyCup”

Pretty strange that the media keeps saying this BLM's first playoff start. Well, what about Mike Reilly? This is also his first playoff start. Only difference was Reilly played late last game, which the media was giving him credit for the win even though he did not put up a point at all.
winner of this game are going to win the Grey Cup imo. Neither MTL or Hamilton really has was it takes to come west and beat a team like Edmonton or Calgary.
I guess I would have said the same thing tho when Calgary played the Argos a few years back.
Holy crap is that already a few years back now? God were all getting old,
