Yup I think it is pretty much an identical situation to Ferland.

That would probably be better for him long term. There's just no room at the AHL level unfortunately with 9 or 10 guys being there. Go back to the Dub and go for a memorial cup (provided he gets dealt to a contender)

2014-15 General Adirondack Flames Discussion Thread
Caught this on Twitter this morning. A few people have asked about TOI for the AHL. Apparently it is tracked, not released at the request of the NHL.
Quote:
@CraigCustance: AHL's Dave Andrews says they track icetime but NHL teams don't want that info public: "We’re where the NHL was 20 years ago." #PrimeTimeSE

I wonder why the NHL would request TOI to be hidden?

Nice! He's been playing well this year, we will miss him.
BTW, obviously from my username to can tell I'm an Avalanche fan first, but my Mom is from Calgary, so I will always have a special place in my heart for the Flames.

Welcome to the board. It's always nice to get reports about the Flames affiliates and their players.

Not 100% sure, but I think after Swift, he spent a couple years in Texas and a bit of time in Idaho.
Cheering hard for this kid. Athleticism runs in his blood (I know the family). I hope he takes this chance and runs hard with it.

The AHL website is now showing that Vause has signed a PTO with the AHL Flames.
I'm trying to find out if there is a reason for this call-up as the Flames were up to 13 healthy and eligible forwards. Perhaps releasing a certain face punching knuckle dragger.

I don't see Turner Elson on the ice and he did not play on Saturday. If he's hurt, could be why the Flames signed Vause.

Elson is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, according to Huska.

8 wins in their last 9 games... How 'bout them Flames boys?
Whose stock has risen lately? Whose stock has fallen?
Arnold is looking pretty dangerous lately. I think his offensive upside is underrated, he just needs to drop some pounds and get quicker on his feet and then I think he'll be able to find some success with the big club.
How has Sieloff adjusted? Wolf? Is Culkin's point production a matter of luck or is he really that important to the team? How has Ortio been playing lately?
Most important of all, are they getting a new mascot anytime soon?

Poirier is the most finesse and when given the puck, can create. Eventually the players will feed him more. Arnold, Hanowski and knight are hard workers and so is Van Brabant. Wolf is a tougher version of Tousignant without the drama. The mixed bag continues on D as well. Each vet is assigned and paired with a young player. Sieloff and Culkin are good but have a long way to go yet. Culkin has not played last few games and luck may have a bit to do with his points. The backend work horses are Yonkman, Cundari, Potter and Wotherspoon. The PK is working great. They have learned to clog up the blue line not allowing entry. The PP is working somewhat, it just is not overly pretty. My only concern, is faceoff wins vs. losses. Wish I had stats. Ortio played well last night, now we need consistency............ Was it my eyes, or was there a Scorch imposter in the stands last night? .

They are playing much the same as the Calgary Flames, hard working all out effort. They are catching other teams of guard with their work ethic. Also, it help that Ortio is rounding into form recently. He was great last game, fully deserving of being the 1st star. If he continues to play like that, there is no reason why he couldn't be the backup next year. He just needs to figure out how to be good off the bat as you can't have a guy playing as bad as he was at the beginning of the season.

I usually love any military themed jerseys but those are a miss for me. Not a fan. Can't imagine they will look good on the ice either.
I'm not familiar with US military uniforms, is this a colour scheme for one of their branches?

"Beauties"???
On the bright side I think we can expect a win, mainly because of the camouflage.
