it doesn't surprise me at all that he was moved.

Allen was a bigger surprise, but the way Gaudreau took the puck off of him last game might have sealed the defender's fate.

Anaheim is such a big team. If Bourque can someone play his old style he will fit nicely on either of the top 2 lines

Good move by Bergevin. Wow. Bryan Allen is at least useful.

Surprised they didn't pick him up on waivers, must have wanted to get rid of a contract in return.

Edit: Didn't realize he makes 3.5M, capdump.

I'm quite surprised Bergiven was able to trade Bourque. His value was at it's lowest point and for him to get Allen in a trade is good.

Maybe the Ducks can harness all that potential Bourque has. Time will tell I guess.

Top 2 lines ? Are we talking about the same Rene Bourque? Definition of insanity is keep banging your head against a wall expecting a different outcome.

Good luck Bruce Boudreau.

He did condition it with him returning to his old form. Bourque of old had around 50-60 point years.

Though getting him to go back to that is likely impossible...he became the lazy floater we know today after getting that 6 year contract. As in, instantly.

It will be interesting to see how Boudreau deals with his often indifferent play. Maybe this deal will be a wakeup call for Bourque? Likely not I would think as he is what he is at this stage of his career.

Louis Jean @LouisJean_TVA
With the Bourque trade and the Moen trade, Marc Bergevin has cleared up about 5 Million in cap space for next year.

This is always been a stupid quote. Eventually the outcome would change.
