Best comeback win I've seen live that I can remember. What a freaking team!
They've been an absolute blast to watch so far.

Ugh, so annoyed. Couldn't stay awake and passed out in the second. Missed the whole thing!

Just watched the game. Fantastic!!!!
Johnny, Brodie, Monahan and Wideman had great games.
I definitely wasn't expecting anything from the Flames this year but that's what's great about sports, sometimes you get the unexpected.
I hope they can keep it rolling. I'm almost expecting wins every time they step out on the ice.

I am ready to believe this team will make the playoffs. The main reasons why revolve around the number of one-goal games they played last season and this new found talent, speed and skill capable of dominating 4-on-4 OT, as well as 3-4 "go to" guys in the shoot-out (Gaudreau, Monahan, Colbourne and Hudler).
Add that to how far ahead of last year's pace this team already is, and the Flames record after Torts hallway meltdown, and you have a team quite capable of amassing 95points (at least).
AMIRIGHT?

NO. Not lucky. The Flames earned that win.
Yes, I agree that they were terrible in the second period, but this team deserves full credit for pretty much taking that game over in the third. Here is an instance in which the shot clock and possession numbers do not tell the whole story. There are things that need to be improved (and we have already been seeing some), but this WAS NOT LUCK.
God, this team. What can I say?
They are good.

Is anyone coming around to the idea of keeping Wideman around? 7 goals from the blue line already...!
Gaudreau – Granlund – Hudler are a tricky trio to cope with. Exceptional forecheck by Johnny to set up Wideman's second goal. That kind of play gets people out of their seats.
Speaking of seats, how was the attendance? Lower bowl looked fairly quiet again. What does this team have to do to fill the Saddledome these days?

He looked like Datsyuk on that play.

I'd just like to point out that Johnny Hockey now has as many points as the two scoring leaders on the Edmonton Oilers, Nugent-Hopkins and Eberle. I won't even mention Yakupov in comparison to Gaudreau, although Granlund has as many goals and more points in half the gams as the former #1 overall.

Nail Yakupov, born Oct. 1993, Oilers 1st overall pick, has 7 points in 18 games.
Johnny Gaudreau, born Aug. 1993, Flames 4th round pick, has 13 points in 19 games.
Hahaha.

Not really. The Flames controlled possession outshot the Ducks in the third and OT, and they have three goals and a win to show for it.

Must have been OT, it was a 1-0 loss to Philly anyway.

It never happened. They only played Philadelphia once that season, and they won 3-2 in OT on a goal by McAmmond.

It wasn't 04 but there was a 1-0 Philly win in SO in last 10 years. I remember that game. I think Esche was in net for Philly both goalies gotta a SO, of course Kipper for us.
Correction, Nittymaki for Flyers. Both were Finnish tenders that night.

Rhett Warrener a few minutes ago dismissed the win.
He claims that Anaheim showed in the first two periods that they can impose their will, control the game, and the Flames couldn't handle their size and strength along the wall and in the corners.
Interesting. Can we then counter argue that in the third period the Flames showed that Anaheim can't contain their speed and puck movement from the backend, through the neutral zone, and in the middle of the ice?
I found myself thinking after the second that the Flames were not big enough nor strong enough to play with the Ducks. In the third period, they made it look easy. I am starting to think that "getting pushed around" in the big, heavy Western Conference is not going to be much of an issue for this team.

Burke still wants to get big to cover for those 2 periods.
I'd agree with Rhett and as Burke has said you need everything to compete with all these teams, size, skill, speed etc. We just need to add couple bigger players up front. As much as I like their speed and skill, the Gaudreau/Sven/Granlund/Byron etc will get beat up in a 7 game series. You need everything but we're on track to get it all.
Poirier will be a good add. I'd love to add a guy like Brett Ritchie from Dallas but I doubt they let him go.
Sven-Monahan-Poirier
Gaudreau-Granlund-Ritchie
Would look good in the future.

Agree completely.
This team is good. That is all.
Will they be as good in Dec? Jan? etc?
Don't know, don't care. Right now they are one of the best teams in the best conference in the NHL... and I'll enjoy that every moment it lasts. And if 'luck' it is - then excellent. Always better to be the lucky one.
