Well ain't that just too bad for all of us middle income Albertans. In a place with so many high income earns.

Then you have the minister of transport saying lets put in toll roads, if you can't afford it just sit in traffic for 2 hours on a secondary route, while those who can afford it zoom past. Cause its not like the low income people aren't the ones who usually have 2 jobs, or young children and really don't have that kind of time to burn.

If the UFA's main concern is money then it has to have a big effect. The Flames could potentially convince players like Giordano or UFAs to take a bit less money knowing they will still be better off after taxes. Hopefully the PCs don't screw this up.

LOL Florida @ 3. Makes sense for all the free agent signings over the last few years. Brian Campbell is laughing all the way to the bank with his low tax $7+ million salary.

Also makes sense for players to go to Edmonton if they're willing to overpay, even if they're no good. Get to keep a lot more of that overpaid cheque even if your professional goals and ambitions are completely forsaken.

The numbers are off though because you’re only taxed in that state for 41 home games, (unless you’re in a state with multiple teams). The other 41 games are taxed on where that game was played. For a true reference as well you need to compare it with a cost of living index.

My understanding is you are only taxed where you are based. For example in my previous job I went and worked some in BC, Sask, and Manitoba. I only ever paid AB taxes.

However, places like Tennessee have an out of town luxury tax I do believe.

You realize that at the same tax % they are paying way more taxes than middle income Albertans right?
