I guess they're sending him down for conditioning. Too many question marks, doubt anyone claims him.

Wouldn't shock me to see someone claim him. He's only at $1.9m. Oilers might try to catch lightning in a bottle... waive Fasth, save $1m in cap space.

Any team that has room for him should think about making a claim. New Jersey or Edmonton would make sense. He's just too good when he's healthy, if you have the ability to take a chance on him, you should go for it.

Stars with their newly acquired cap space may also take him.
Lindback has been a disaster this year

as he was in Tampa last year. The guy thrived in the defensive Trotz setup in Nashville but has been horrible ever since. The Stars should definitely consider claiming Harding

A lot of health concerns for Harding. It would have to be a team that is desperate for organizational depth in net. Maybe New Jersey? Schneider has started all 18 games and they have Clemmensen as the backup who has been plainly brutal this year (GAA of 6.49, Sv% of .765) and has probably been replaced by Kinkaid. Harding would be a good backup option for Jersey.

MS is a degenerative disease. Mr. Harding has greatly defied the odds by playing anywhere close to an professional level.
It would be interesting what he and his support team (Drugs, diet, stress management etc) has done to keep him at an elite level and if there are any strategies that have been learned from his success.

Didn't realize that Harding hasn't played a game in a calendar year. Likely clears

I believe in the Jays.

He'll get claimed. Only question is by whom (Edmonton would be my guess).

With Harding's health issues and knowing how the Oilers rush injured players back into action, claiming him could end very badly.

I wouldn't claim him.
A) health issues. Well documented, with the MS and the wall-kick that has caused him to miss the start of this season. But he also has a history of mysteriously coming up lame right as he was getting hot, or when the team needed him, throughout his career. Russo has written about this in the past.
B) Look at his stats, he was only "good" for half of one season (last season). Yes, he was very good during that stretch. But that's the outlier among his career numbers, not the standard. Yes, it's possible he could have Figured It Out and will pick up at that level, but what if it truly was the outlier and he goes back to how he has performed for the balance of his career? Now you have and injury-prone goalie, with MS, who is an average performer capable of playing well, just not consistently.
No, he's not making a ton of money, and yes, his contract is up at the end of the season - so it's not a huge risk economically, but I just don't see the upside reward as materially off-setting that risk.

Now, being a Wild fan, I hope someone does claim him. Preferably someone from within the Central division so THEY can be hamstrung when he can't play.
And I'm not insensitive to his MS. My mom has MS. It's a brutal, awful disease. I think what he has done with it, and how he has persevered is awesome and I have nothing against him personally. But I still will be glad when he's no longer Wild property.
