I managed to get an invite. Since I've ordered I have no way to check the order status though. Got my receipt from PayPal but can't find the status on oneplus.net anywhere..

Anyone know where I can see that info?

On the Main Oneplus page, login (hover over second last icon on the top right) then once logged in, hover over that icon again and click store account.
On the left hand side you should see "my orders"

Has anyone had issues sending pictures over text since the last update? I've tried the native sms app and Handcent, both crash when trying to send a picture in a text

Too much of form over function for me. The minimalism is throwing me off personally, much like QKSMS. I'll have stick with sliding Messenger for now.

Some people (like me) like a text only app, that doesn't combine Hangouts.
