Thank god we're out of SE USA...either those rinks all have terrible ice, or the Flames need to get their inner-ears checked...

This team has lost three major pieces up the middle, and have played 11 games on the road so far and 6 at home. It almost looks like they ran out of gas half way through the game.

The goaltending has slipped a little bit too.

Overall, I can live with this loss.

It is what it is.. I am not gonna stress too much about the loss.

One thing tho, the passing was way off tonight compared to what I have seen for the last bit.

Carolina is 5-0-1 in their last 6 games and the Flames playing in their last of 5 on the road... odds were saying a regulation loss in this one.

Had my hopes up when they scored the first goal, but they looked like they gave up in this one. Definitely not one of their best efforts to say the least.

I don't know about that. Ramo did exactly what was expected from him.

Spent most of my time in the other forum and on FB feeling good about Adirondack.

We know(and the team knows) that they can play much better than that. Not saying much, but when even your top guys have an off night, you won't do very well.

There are a few positives though. We scored on the PP which is good. Another night, another point for Gio. Pleased that Jones is contributing, might not last long but I'l take it while it lasts. Maybe he feels more under pressure for his place at the moment and is really trying to step up his game?

I will repeat what I said on Saturday though, with Hillers form slipping slightly and Ramo struggling on Saturday, you notice the difference.

Few things I will say about the goals. 1st goal, Wideman gets beaten far too easily by Boychuk, he has to make sure Boychuk is unable to shoot or do anything other than check back or dump the pump. Weak play by him and no way should Hiller be beaten from that angle either. Caught him unawares sure, but he's got to keep that near post covered better than that.

As for the 2nd, what was Gio doing? Watch him as Faulk winds up to shoot, he moves out of the way. You can see him actually twist his body so that he's side on to the shot. He's been amazing for us this season, but that was shocking.

3rd goal, the simple screen. I've felt too often that attackers have been able to get to the front of the net and screen Hiller without any d-man giving them a shove or making it difficult for them. Ok its a fast moving play, but I'd have liked Brodie to be a bit closer to the man in front there. Then for the 4th, Brodie was really sloppy with the puck, puts it on a plate for Gleason to tap in. I know it came at him quick, but these are the sort of mistakes he wasn't making until the last few games. His offence has dried up a bit in the last 2 as well. Hopefully he can get back on the points trail in this home stand.

As for Setoguchi, I'm sorry but as soon as we get bodies fit, he has to get waived. Its too much of a coincidence for me that we concede more often(or it seems like we do) when he's out on the ice. Combine that to his complete non-entity of a offensive threat(0 points, -7, 12 shots in 10 games, just over 1 a game, pitiful numbers) and I'm not sure what use he currently is. And its not like he's not had a decent shot. Plenty of PP time to get him going, 10 games, average amount of ice time. Compare him to Jooris who in the same number of games has 5 points and more shots. He is a waste of space currently and I'd rather see McGratton dress and play on the 4th line, allowing Jooris to replace Seto on the 3rd.

We went 4-2-0 in the last road trip, 3-2-0 this time around. Thats decent. Thankfully we don't have another trip of that length game wise until January. So hopefully the fatigue factor will be at a minimum. We need to hope some of the injured players like Ferland, Raymond and Colborne are fit to play soon, we could really do with the latter 2 back.

Hopeful we can beat the Coyotes, they seem to struggle away from home, although they have won their last 2 away games against the Ducks and Caps. After that, things could get really tough for us. Anahiem twice, Chicago, San Jose, New Jersey. The whole team is going to need to step it up for those games, won't get away with Florida type performances against the big boys in our conference.

Seto give away and then penalty right after leading to the quick goal sure felt like the turning point to me.

Not for me. They've come back from 1 goal a lot. I felt like they were in it to 3-1, and then they got desperate.

I haven't been impressed with Bollig in the last few games. I'd like to see him sit for McGratton for a few.

Hudler not scoring on the wrap around was the turning point for me. After that, bad goaltending and turnovers by the d men cost us the game.

Please destroy this homestand. I want to get back to positive vibes.

Wouldn't be unhappy if one of our dozen injured players came back, either..

I really don't understand why anyone is surprised by this, and yet I continue to see these sorts of statements made about Jones. Am I the only one who thinks that he has actually been a pretty effective player in Calgary? His problem in his time here—especially over the course of the last calendar year—has not been his performance, it has been the fact that he is not dependable to stay healthy.

Anyhow. I thought he was okay, but not terrific, to go along with every one else in the game. I for one am looking forward to Hartley re-establishing the goalie rotation. Rämo needs more mins., and Hiller needs a push.

I know Jones scored the only goal tonight, but he continued his bowling ball trick into the net. I admire the drive and that he has been doing what he needs to do to be successful but I don't think that he is capable of making a pass. I am pretty sure that he gets such tunnel vision for the net that he doesn't even contemplate a pass. I wish he would use the same size and speed comign into the corners when chasing after a dump in. It really felt like Monahan and Johnny were completely wasted on that line tonight.

I disagree. He used to be the invisible man. There would be stretches of time where I would literally forget he was on the team.

Regardless, when Jones is healthy he adds an element that the team sorely lacks. When he drives to the net like that he's creating space and chaos that players like Gaudreau and Monahan should be able to capitalise on. I'm really impressed by the Monahan/Jones partnership.

The David Jones we saw last night is the same one we saw early last season, which was very effective. How long can he keep it up before he's on the IR again? Credit to him for playing 'his game' and not playing with fear of the next inevitable injury...

I was fairly disappointed in Gaudreau last night. He really seemed to be misfiring out there and had trouble finding his teammates with passes he would normally hit tape-to-tape. Seemed to give the puck away more frequently when he'd lose the handle on attempted dekes and the like. Maybe the ice was terrible; maybe Carolina played a great defensive game; maybe it was just a blip in an otherwise solid rookie season.

On the bright side, Bouma looked amazing out there. Jooris looked very good anywhere he played. Reinhart was solid in the first period and had a lot of jump.
