Have a feeling that Hartley would much prefer Ferland over seto at this point :-)

That would be amazing. But the more likely scenario is that he'll get double-shifted in the 3rd. We have to give him every opportunity to prove he belongs here after all...

All joking aside though, he'll probably remain here at least until some of our injured guys come back. Hopefully once Colborne and Raymond are back, he'll be gone...or at least have himself permanently planted in the press box.

He's no Rene Bourque, that's for sure.

If Rene Bourque can get sent down the AHL, surely The Gooch will.

Now I'm curious. With Baertschi having a virus, and playing on Setoguchi's line, is there any way we should have expected more from him? I want to see him playing with someone else when he returns.

At this point, I really can't believe that Hartley is putting Setoguchi out thinking 'he's the best guy at this point in the game'

He sees the hustle in game, he sees the effort in practice and knows there is potential there if it can ever be tapped. But that hope has to be running out.

That's right. At least Bourque had points this year, and I really detest Bourque.

Cones only. Rods don't do colour.

Sorry, uncontrollable science nerd instinct. I've been twitching for 15 minutes trying to resist this post.

I think sure, more favourable ice time and better line mates would help Baertschi have a better showing. But is that what we want? Or do we want to see what he has to offer on his own, or at least, without the padding of a pro like Hudler or Monahan?

Gotta love the "leafs are fighting for a playoff spot" talk during a flames intermission. Thank got for being able to pause live tv

I've given it time, and I just can't shake it.

Hextall looks like Courtney Cox's sister, and carries the end of her sentences like a valley girl. Just another SN personality I would rather not see.

It's the "If Gretzky can be traded ..." comparable of AHL demotions.

I wouldn't be upset with a line-up that is lacking the Bollig and Setoguchi ingredients. I'm really having a hard time seeing what either is bringing to the on-ice product.

Overplaying Setoguchi might be about trying to salvage the career of a guy who's on his last chance. He might be playing the last NHL games of his career right here

You make a good point, but it's nearly impossible for anyone to get their game going playing with Seto. Even Byron hasn't looked as good playing with him, and I think he's quite good.

Just give him a game or two with someone who isn't Setoguchi and see how he does. It's not like we're breaking up some great chemistry with them anyway.

I know we're all over the map jumping on the Flames right now, but, is Wideman in the lineup tonight?

Hartley is using the hang-man as motivation. His threat used to be "I smell chocolate" when his affiliate team was the Hersey Bears. I wonder what he's whispering into Setoguchi's ear...

Yeah, I find her irritating to listen to as well.
