Faceoff goes to the neutral zone instead of in the offensive end. If 4 of the offensive players happen to be in the area when a scrum happens, it doesn't automatically go out of the zone though as long as the 5th guy stays back.

AHL Flames up 3-1 after one - Poirier, Arnold and Hathaway with the goals. 14 saves for Ortio.

About time Poirier gets a goal! What was that like a 3-4 period drought?

That was a pretty good period for the Flames. The Carolina goal was a bit of a fluke, but Hiller should have hugged the post a bit more.

Culkin had an assist on the Poirier goal and now has 8 points in 9 games. Nice to see.

I'd say so off the side of his head.

I like Zach Boychuk, a real stand up guy. Big Leth Hurricanes fan when he played down there and hopes were high when he went 14th overall but it hasn't panned out. Too bad it had to be us he scored against.

It's kind of crazy the Flames are wrapping up a 5 game road trip and have already had a 6 game road trip so early in the season. Pretty nice record considering they haven't been at home much.

Glad to see that ADK can still win games without Jooris, Ferland, Granlund, Baertschi and Reinhart. Who needs a top 6 anyway. Am I right, or am I right?

Ryan Culkin now has 8pts in 9gp for Addy. Pretty impressive. I'm glad his passing is translating well to the pro level. I thought he'd take a lot longer to "get it" at the pro level.

Scott Morrison can't even be bothered to learn the correct pronunciations of Bouma and Giordano.
