When you clicked the invite was it from "system" or some random user name? If it's system it's usually 24 hours. If it's from a user, those are 5 or 7 days depending from the time they are sent out. Once claimed it's 24 hours to order AFAIK

If it expired then probably it's gone. You may have to wait for another invite to come along or do the preorder for yours next week on the 17th.

Yea well it depends on if when he gave it to you, if it had an hour left when he sent it out you might not have much of a chance to use it.

I figured as much, thanks for the clarification (and running the list). The shipping time is phenomenal though. I'm in Australia but bought it for my fiance who's currently in HK; the order went in Sun afternoon and the phone was shipped Mon morning! Currently, it's sitting in HK waiting to be delivered to her tomorrow which would make it around two days from purchase to arrival at her doorstep! Here's hoping she'll be able to make the transition from iOS easily enough.

So I'm about receive my first OTA update. Just to be sure, it won't affect or be affected by my phone being rooted, boot loader unlocked, or having custom recovery?

It will not affect the phone being unlocked. Custom recovery will be retained as long as you have disabled it in the settings - developer options - update recovery. Root will be lost but if you have the supersu app installed and newer custom recovery, it will try to re-root on OTAs that are not major numeric revisions. I. E. 4-5.

I can only assume they'll come out with glass for the OnePlus. I don't see why not.

Well my old Galaxy nexus finally has a cracked screen and hasn't been working great. I think this is how I'm going.

Anyone have any invites?

I'm set for the pre-sale but I read during the last presale it wasn't the easiest to get through so if anyone has an extra invite they'd like to get rid of I'd gladly take it.

Update: they were unable to recover the photos or data. It's all gone. The phone has re-booted too many times.

The final step (which has a 10% success rate) would have been to open the phone, extract the memory and basically plug it in. I was told this doesn't have a very good success rate (10%) because of Kit Kat (the OS on the phone). Ie: everything is encrypted, etc, etc.

In the end I've received photos from friends and family, that I texted, Facebook (that I posted) and other sources. I have the "best of the best", so at least that's better than nothing. When you take 6 pictures of your daughter, you only ever send out the "best one" of the 6. In this case, that's what I had sent back to me.

Lesson learned. Now to start the RMA process with OnePlus and get my money back.
