I'll take a 0-0 draw at halftime. Ricketts should have had a penalty awarded when he was taken down in the box. Colombia's goal may have been onside, although my stream was skipping on the replay.
Canada ran out of gas near the end of the first half but hey, I'll take it.

Colombia's goal was definitely onside, but that cancels out the pen. Canada are hanging in there. Colombia are turning the screw though.

A 1-0 loss against the #3 ranked team in the world is nothing to be ashamed of. Took a wonder strike from the World Cup Golden Boot winner to beat us.
Things are looking up

Agreed. Hard to complain about that one. I'll be the first to admit that the result was much better for Canada than I had feared. Baby steps.

The Floro stamp is definitely visible on this squad. Good to see.

Was only able to catch the highlights of this one and could not believe there wasn't a PK awarded for Canada. Happy to hear there was a missed offside that would have resulted in a goal though, so that makes it OK.
Great result!

This team looks just so organized. Even missing a couple of the regular go-to players, they did themselves proud against #3.

Good organization by our team.
It's going to be a few years until our young offensive talent is ready for the big stage, unfortunately.

I appreciate what they have done in the past but really Hirschfield, De Guzman and De Rosario should have been replaced on this team by now. Especially in friendlies. Plus Bernier and Hutchinson that must be 35 plus now.

Maybe it isn't a big deal since he won't be cap-tied playing in the upcoming friendlies but Calgary born Tesho Akindele and MLS rookie of the year candidate declined Canada November call up after getting a call from Klinnsman.
He would be so far down the depth chart on the USMNT that this has Teal Bunbury written all over it. It would be a no brainer to play for Canada and get first team minutes considering his close ties still in BC.

Coach Benito Floro has named 23 players to the squad that will start with a camp in Orlando, FL on Sunday 9 November and train there before heading south on Sunday 16 November in advance of the game.
Of note, MLS FC Dallas Tesho Akindele declined an invitation to attend the camp.

I think it's totally Teal Bundbury 2.0. So frustrating, but way more understandable given he's lived in the US since he was 8 years old. This is no JDG move at least.

It's an interesting case because while he wouldn't technically be cap-tied by playing in the friendly he would in all practicality be tied to us. Because he isn't currently an American citizen he wouldn't be able to switch to them later if he played for us (at least that's my understanding). If he already had his US citizenship and played the friendly he would still be permitted to do a one time switch to them so it sounds like he is just keeping options open for now. Still not a promising sign - after Hargreaves, Fernandes, Jono, Bunbury, Hoillett, etc. we all know how this story ends.

About Akindele? Meh, we have more talented players on the team already. Cyle Larin, would should be going #1 overall in January's draft has much more talent, and is 2 years younger. He'll get his 1 or 2 games and never be seen again.
Frustrating but what can you do. The fact that the CSA published that he turned down the call up means that they are not happy with him.
