Sven looks better

Other than that, 2nd/3rd pairings were awful.

Great to see life from Sven though. Thought he had a solid game.

Burn the game tape. Good news no more games vs TBay.

Setoguchi with a grand total of 0 points this year, whoo!
Why is he here again?
Sure hope Colborne or Ferland are back soon..

I'm really not even upset at anything tonight. We had our weaknesses exposed by a great team that was ready for us. We might be a lot better than anyone thought this year, but by no means are we at the level of the elite teams. It's just the way it goes sometimes.

Wasnt the prettiest game but like how we managed to stay sort in it against a really good Lightning team playing some pretty sloppy hockey.

Monahan looked really good tonight. Confidence in the offensive zone and did a good job of shutting down Stamkos. Was -2, but thought he played well defensively.
The whole 3rd line looked much better tonight. Sven was skating and making plays, hope he keeps progressing each game. Byron played well, and definitely Guch's best game. He shouldn't be on the PP, but he did make some nice plays while there, so cant complain.

the defense though, ugh. Obviously Russell/Wideman were terrible in their own end. Worst game I've seen Russell play in a while. 3rd pairing wasn't great either. Even Brodano struggled a bit in their own zone for their standards this year.
Johnny was also a turnover machine tonight, he was trying to make things happen but making some not so smart passes.

Out coached and some players on the back end that aren't 5, 6 or 7 had an off night. I don't feel like the flames were as far behind as some of the board seems to though. still plenty of good tonight.

Very bad defensive game. First half was ok, but the last half of the game was a complete trainwreck.

Monahan and hiller looked great, about the only positives from tonight

I don't have an issue with him playing, (given our injury situation) but it makes no sense why he tied for 1st in PP time.

Great first half. Must have been why the coaching staff sat him for the second half.

Was Glencross demoted to the 4th line after that 4th goal? I thought I saw him skating with Byron and Seto for a few shifts in a row but time on ice says otherwise.

Didnt like that early whistle when Bishop layed down and the puck ended up going in. I also thought the reffing changed in the third where certain calls just werent called. I have noticed we tend to get way more PP than the other teams this year. Im sure it has to do with the hustle & if we can ever really put a deadly system together it could do some damage!

You can't make those cute little blind back passes without knowing where the other team's players are at or you can get your butt kicked. It happened a number of times. I've also not seen that many Flames defencemen fall down in a long time. Sven was trying and got some good shots on goal so that is a plus.

Monahan has a fantastic shot. Wow. He is really handling the 1st line duty like a pro. I thought he was our best forward this game. He was inches away from 2 shots to having a hat trick.

I thought Sven looked better than granlund and jooris tonight despite his limited ice time.
