Pearson is currently rocking a 35% shooting percentage. He's got regression coming, although with his linemates his assists will likely go up.

Best thing for him. Just getting away from the train wreck that is Buffalo is a step forward.

Stats from NHL.com

And I'll say it again because it brings me joy, undrafted Josh Jooris is currently ahead of 3rd overall pick Leon Draisatil

Jooris likely leading all rookies in highlight reel goals.

Forsberg has 2 more goals tonight.

10 points in 11 games.

That Forsberg trade looked like a steal when it was made, and it looks even more so today. Great pickup by the Preds.

Absolutely baffling. I remember it being announced an hour or two after the deadline and it still blows my mind to this day.

One of the most painfully obvious one-sided trades in the last decade.

I was floored when that trade was made. What a silly silly silly trade.

Kings' Pearson named NHL Rookie of the Month

Quote:
Los Angeles Kings left wing Tanner Pearson, who led all rookies with seven goals and nine points in 11 games, has been named the NHL Rookie of the Month for October.

Pearson edged Washington Capitals left wing Andre Burakovsky (2-6—8 in nine games), Nashville Predators center Filip Forsberg (1-7—8 in 10 games) and New Jersey Devils defenseman Damon Severson (4-3—7 in 10 games) for the honor.

I really like Forsberg's game. Still baffled why Washington traded him for Erat.

3 Rookies in the top 20, that is pretty impressive, with 30 teams, not too many in the list with multiple entries. We either suck in the veteran category or we actually are getting strong in the quality of our rookies.

If Granlund stays I could see him in the mix as a Calder candidate, he is still in my opinion our most under rated prospect.

If he gets sent down I could see him taking a serious run at the Calder next year.

Edit: oops McDavid.

You never know what could happen. A rookie who's had a couple years in the AHL or a Euro league could come up and be better than a McDavid. Ovie beat Sid.

Bennett is only 4 points behind uber second line C rookie Leon Draisaitl! Better plus minus too
