McKenzie Towne School in Lockdown
Gunman reported in neighbourhood. Lots of police on site. No harm to anyone in the school as far as I know, but kids are not being released at end of day.

Gunman was reported at the 130th Ave walmart and walked across field between school and the store (I've not heard any reports of injuries or shots at the Walmart).

Was just about to post this. Apparently they won't release kids as he is still at large and lots of these kids walk home.

Just to clarify, everyone in the schools are OK, and this is impacting all schools in the area

My wife is out front of the school... again, no reports of injuries or even shots fired, but school is on lockdown and neighbourhood is full of police.

Source is my wife in front of the school (she's texting me).
The David Thompson bus did drop off all their riders at the school however.

No one here is freaked out really, doesn't appear to be anything to be worried about. Pretty much just standard procedure.
Until I hear about shots fired, I am not worried. So really, you probably shouldn't worry about minimizing it too much, because right now it is a fairly minor situation.
