I've had the phone for a couple of weeks now and most things seem okay for now. I've had one issue where the screen does not respond while I'm on speaker phone, but can be fixed by closing and re-opening dialer again. One really annoying thing is that my phone still vibrates when I get a notification even though I've turned that off through settings. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggested fixes?

Any reviews on the dbrand screen protector?

Also, does anyone have a glass screen protector for sale? I failed miserably at installing my Nilkin protector and feel antsy having OPO naked.

I have 2 Orzly GLASS screen protectors to get rid of.

Link: http://www.amazon.ca/Orzly%C2%AE-Tem...ly+oneplus+one

I paid $11.49 for each one. Throw me an offer and we can meet up.

This goes for anyone that wants them. Again, I have 2 available. Still in their packaging.

I appreciate all the help guys, I don't know what I'm going to do.
Sorry I couldn't be more help. The situation you are in is terrible. Looks like you you are getting some great technical support so I hope you get it figured out.

I think it was mentioned but you did do a cache and dalvik cache wipe? This helps a lot.

You are RMAing the phone though right?

Yes, tried the dalvik thing. Didn't work.

Yes, trying to return the phone.

It's doing this thing and you can't fix it? Damn. That sucks.

I would totally kill someone if I had to try holding keys for over 30 seconds and realizing it wasn't working and the phone was completely GG.

I don't care about having to hold down the keys. Going to those menus, as shown, and selecting them, would wipe my phone...which I'm trying to avoid.

This is exactly what my phone was/is doing: (not my video)

I feel for you. Always sucks when technology goes crappy.

I honestly can't believe this company...

I opened a ticket, requesting either tech support or a refund. They closed both of my tickets and marked them as "solved."

Ummm...no. So I've re-opened the ticket. No reason was even given for closing the tickets. Just boom..."solved."

I wonder if the tickets were ticked "solved" because it was a duplicate? I think I've seen similar things happen with Fiio. Just used wrong word.

I feel you man. I was on the verge of tears trying to figure out the OPO when I put the sim card upside down. I can't imagine how bad yours must be. I was reading stuff from as far back from 2012 and it still is not clear as to how to fix it.

I have no idea how to follow this without being a computer programmer.

What are the options in the recovery? Can you wipe system? This would reset the system but not touch your data. Typically you have

Wipe cache
Wipe dalvik
Wipe system
Wipe data

Not sure if all that is available in the CM recovery. As long as you avoid data your photos will still be there.

Hey guys. Appreciate the replies.

The Phone is in the hands of a data recovery place. I've read and tried all sorts of threads. Nothing worked. Mainly because my phone wasn't unlocked or rooted. Seems kind of dumb that you need to do this, to recover your phone. Shouldn't recovery be available out of the box?

I'll update you all in a couple days when I hear back.

Cheers!

Yeah, it's crappy but unlocking the bootloader can really come in handy down the road. I do get quite a bit of use out of a custom recovery. I'll snap a nandroid every now and then so I always have a complete back up of my entire phone.

I just received the following reply to my ticket:

Dear <my real name>,

Congratulations with the birth of your daughter.
We hope that both the mother and the newly-born are in excellent health.

The faulty product does require repair.
But considering the circumstances, we shall offer you either a replacement or refund as per your request.

Regarding recovery of the pictures we are much less hopeful.
Nonetheless, we would like to allow you any and all opportunities for a successful recovery. (For avoidance of doubt: at your risk and expense.)

Therefore we hereby confirm that even if your product is returned to us damaged; we shall refund the full purchase price, or ship you a new product respectively.

I apologize for my delayed response and hope the proposed resolution is satisfactory.

Looking forward to hearing from you how you prefer to go ahead.

Kind regards,
Sanam

So there we go. I'll probably take the refund.

So, now that I have my phone and RedMileDj's phone went on the fritz, I was wondering what are some things I should set up on the phone before I commit to it. There seemed to be a lot of talk about how a rooted phone (or just unlocked bootloader?) is easier to recover, is there anything else? What does everyone use for backing up your phone contents?

Hope you can get your photos recovered Redmile.

Anyone else who doesn't yet.. Always back up your stuff! Phones are used to record alot if precious moments now, but they're still susceptible to many things failing. I Cloud, Google+, etc etc. I use my Dropbox for photo back up and it works great. Then if I have anything I really want to protect I put it on one of my external hard drives I use for my actual photography.
