Avs have looked pretty bad all game. Varlamov was the only reason they were up earlier in the game.

Also must say I'm liking the Kesler trade so far.

And Varlamov is the reason they're now behind.

Yep. He looked solid up until the Sedin goal with 4 seconds left in the 2nd. Has just completely fallen apart now.

They have allowed 11 goals in two games and Subban was on the ice for 8 of them.

Kings stop their mini slump with a 3-1 road win against the Stars.

The stinkin' Leafs are losing 3-1 in the third period.

John Garrett is literally wetting his pants in the third period with the Canucks scoring at will.

I'm gonna say this through gritted teeth, but the Canucks look very good this season. Vrbata seems like the perfect fit for the Sedins and trading Kesler for Bonino and Sbisa has worked out well for them.

Man the Avs suck though.

I haven't followed but what is wrong with the Avs this year?

they are basically the same as last year without getting outlier performances by Varlamov

they are a top heavy team up front, that has no depth and no D

Iginla is probably already realizing his mistake, my guess is he gets traded before the deadline

I think they just really overachieved last year. Probably shouldn't be as bad as they have been though.

Maybe it's karma paying them a visit for tanking so they could draft MacKinnon.

If Iginla actually cared about winning he wouldn't have signed a 3 year deal with the Avs. I say this as a huge Iginla supporter over the years but I lost a little respect for him when he signed with the Avs for big money. He's made a huge amount of money, there is no way he thought the Avs had a great shot at winning it all. If I was him and had made the money he has made I would have approached the Hawks or another real contender and wanted a one year deal for $1 million.

It might be more a question of what went right last year. They got outshot a ton last year but overcame it with a really high shooting percentage and great goaltending. This year they're still getting outshot by a ton but their percentages are down around the median so they're getting outscored and losing a lot of games.

Ya, karma into drafting McDavid, Eichel or Hanifan. They're terrible.

By giving them a potential top pick in a great draft?

True Dat. If he really wanted to go to the final, he would have stayed a Bruin. There's too much competition out west - 4-5 teams all with a legit shot. Out east there's the Bruins and then a gap IMO.

The season is still young. There's still time for them to try and recover but fall short and miss the playoffs.

I appreciate the sentiment.

You guys look just as good. And its gonna be a pleasure to watch our teams play each other.

One thing that has helped a lot with the Canucks is getting rid of cancerous locker room tumours. Luongo is friendly, but clearly didn't wanna be around, Kesler is a ######. Once we get rid of Bieksa and Burrows all will be well.

But yes, positivity for Vancouver and Calgary right now is nice to see, because our games used to be the games I looked forward to most on the schedule just out of pure hate and tenacity.

And of course Edmonton still blows. #### the Oilers.
