Treliving and company have some awfully hard decisions ahead of them. They have a number of young players they need to find room for and some veterans they need to dispose of. They also have some prospects they could move to improve the team now and in the future. Time to make a move for a young defender that can be a cornerstone? Who is finding themselves on the outside looking in? Glencross? Jones? Hudler? If they have to move a young guy in the system has it finally become apparent that Baertschi just isn't fitting in and could be used to get a player like Stone or Gormley or Murphy from Arizona? Nothing like striking while the iron is hot and improving the lot of the team.

Hiller was off his game today but came through when you needed. Though I think they should give the next game to Ramo.
Giordano and Brodie continue to be the best pairing in the NHL this season.

Sven will be the first one to be sent down to the AHL once the Flames get a healthy body back. A non-factor.
The Flames need to find a way to move Wideman to the 3rd pairing. He's just too slow to be playing more than 20 minutes a game. Was terrible in his own zone. Maybe bring up Wotherspoon and put him with Russell. Slide Wideman to the 3rd pairing with Smid/Engelland.

Monahan is better than ok given the assignments he has had since the injuries at center. He's almost like a defenceman you don't want to notice and then said guy doesn't get noticed. It's not a bad thing. Especially for a young player growing into his role (a mighty big one at that) and then deftly turning what turns into a dying play into the game winner?! Wow. Oh wow. We are seeing a young fine player turn into a silent killer right before our eyes. Death by lethal injection some may say..

Still think Wideman on the 5-4 against was a mistake. Some don't see that for for whatever reason. There were better options..

Caps had more bounces than we did especially with OV on Glencross, as most players not named star guy would have been called a minor for boarding at the least. Then the high hit on Smid and no call.

Hiller is the biggest reason this team can fight through stuff like this. The guy is all world right now and gives us another shift/period to win it and keep things rolling.

That's in part what builds winners.

If you guys think the Flames are getting somebody like Gormley for Baertschi, you're kidding yourselves.

I don't really understand why he was called up to warm the bench, but I can't imagine its sitting well with him. Regardless, he's not missing time in ADK since they don't play until Friday, but it's gotta hurt to see Setoguchi gifted powerplay time while one (LITTLE) mistake by Baertschi gets him benched for the rest of the game.

I feel bad for him. I don't really think it's fair. It's not easy to perform under a microscope. I hope he can pull through one way or another.

It's Hiller, he is most deserving. Without Hiller it doesn't get to OT.

Seto has done a hell of a lot more at this level than Sven

Thank you. I was having a hard time figuring out who that was. I don't think I've ever seen Hiller without a silly face. I also guess I identify Hiller from his hair and gear.

We have twice as many points as Edmonton. 2x. Amazing how no good they are.

What has he done to earn PP time?

Quite frankly Setoguchi has been better then him in Svens two games.

I'm sure if that was Jones, Setoguchi, or Glencross you wouldn't be calling it a little mistake.

Gaudreau, Jooris, and Granlund have all succeeded in earning themselves minutes and PP time. Baertschi shouldn't feel sorry for himself, because he needs to look in the mirror play better and earn it.

The guy is only 22 at the end of the day, but he's being left behind. It's nobody's fault other than his own.

Like I said earlier, I want to see him succeed, and hopefully in a Flames jersey, but he needs to find a way to get noticed in a positive way because right now, his mistakes are the only thing he's being noticed for.
