What a great win for Italy, just minutes before going to a penalty shootout Italy connect for two very nice goals.
Here's hoping for a Italy/Portugal final.

What a crappy way to lose. I am sad. Italy did deserve the win though. The out played the Germans in this one.
It must be a sad time in Deutschland right now.

Schounbuchbrau from Stuttgart was my favourite beer by far out there. The best thing was that we got 0.5L bottles for 0.75 cents from the vending machines on campus.
Hefeweisen is like Guiness. Its a beer and a meal. I actually found a 2L bottle of Weizen beer at a grocery store. I drank it and brought the bottle back to Canada.
Here is a picture of it. I put a normal sized beer bottle beside it to truly show its size.

Italy dives like helll.. As much as I really try to love this game I can't help but be totally miffed by the unsportsmanlike dives that these athletes subject themselves to.
Absolutely disgusting...

I hope the French are happy with that gift from the referee. It's a good thing that Thiery Henry is a good Footballer because he would starve as an actor. That was the most pathetic dive inside the penalty box I have ever seen. I hope the Portugese can bounce back and even up the score before the end of this.

I can't believe that France got through to the final. Portugal played so well and deserved to win, it's unfortunate they had to loose because of such a bad call. What hurt Portugal was their inability to use the lateral play and set up any good crosses. They had so much possesion of the ball but were unable to connect inside the box. With the way Barthez played today I think the Italians are counting their three stars knowing they might just add another one with a goalkeeper who's playing so bad.
GO AZURRI!!!

POR is the last team in the world that should complain about simulation. POR and ITA were the worst offenders in this tournament. Just desserts IMO. If you live by the dive, you may die by the dive.
I hope FIFA really does something about all the play-acting. It is really turning me off football. Australia was the only team that played honestly.

I gotta agree with Troutman on this one. Portugal was flailing all over the field today...and yelling for fouls each time. Granted Henry did the same in the box, but at least there was some contact there, all be it very minimal.
I'm happy my team has made it to the Finals...while playing only 2 games up to their calibur.

It would have been neat to see the Aussie's beat Italy, could have been a very different second half of a World Cup with the Socceroos!

Re: Commericals
They've been worse in other World Cups. I don't mind the Adidas ones, at least they switch them up.
But the idiodic Rogers ones...3 twenty somethings travelling to Germany on game day and being surprised that tickets are sold out.
Luckily, Bimbo downloads a video clip of the "winning goal" and they make new friends.
I wonder if these new friends took their wallets too...because if these 3 are dumb enough to wait the 3 hours past the game when they can download a video clip of a goal from Rogers, getting charged with god-awfully high international data roming fees, as opposed to going to the local pub and watching the game like 99% of the people, they have brain cell deficiency issues.
Plus, one dude changes his shirt a couple times in the following clips, the others don't. Poor production.
Then the ending line talking about how if you have your friends with you, doesn't matter where you are in the world, you have all you need....all this while showing the clip of dude on the phone (assumeably back to Canada, again getting charged exorbanent international roaming fees) to someone else who is not there in Germany, but is important enough to make an pricey overseas call.
Doesn't seem like dude has everything he needs there.
Typical Rogers style commercials, appealing to the mindless sheep.

Not a bad call at all. Henry did act it up, but it was a foul and it was deliberate. Certainly worthy of a penalty.

Christiano Ronaldo sure has a lot of skill, but boy does this guy ever dive. He is really gaining a reputation. You could tell every time he flopped to the ground, the ref looked like he was about to laugh. Give him a couple of yellow cards next time.

Henry, for years, has been one of the most honest players around and I'm not an Arsenal fan whatsoever. He did state at one time, after not getting a decision in the box, that perhaps he would have to accentuate the foul like certain other players do and he didn't like that idea. Unfortunately, it seems like that is what's required nowadays. Unfortunate to say the least.
Still, it's ridiculous for anyone to complain about such a decision going against Portugal. They have hardly endeared themselves in this regard in this World Cup. Add me to the "you live by the sword, you die by the sword." It was pretty fitting actually.
Go France!

Very disappointing finish for Portugal. They played well enough from penalty area to penalty area to perhaps deserve a goal. But they were terrible in the final third, and had been since the knockout phase started. They hadnt scoreed a goal since the 20th or minute against the Dutch. I aint gonna whine about the penalty, because there was contact there and should it have been reversed, I would have been upset if Portugal didnt get the call. The only thing I am tired of is the constant bashing of POrtugal for being this team of divers. I aint gonna defend them and say they never do it, but they are not as bad as other teams and were certainly not the worst in the tournament. They just got a bad rep because of that game with the Dutch. Everyone seemed to hate the Portuguese after that game.
Oh well, now, we wait another 2 years for EURO, the Portuguese will lose some big name players in Figo and I would assume Pauleta is done as well, but there are some young studs waiting to take thier place, Joao Moutinho and Manuel Fernandes will be great with some experience. Hopefully Scolari stays on for another term, I have read conflicting reports, but I would love him to stay behind the bench till 08, then it will be time for Jose Mourinho to take over. Well, I can dream.
FORCA PORTUGAL........but damn, that Figo missed header will live with me for a long time.
