If this is a novice tournament he would be 7-8. Atom is 9-10, peewee 11-12.

Poor Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. He probably thought he'd never have to do that again.

When I was young, Novice was 9-10. I know it has changed, but maybe the tournament name is a legacy to the old way.

There is no way those kids are 7-8. They have to be 9-10.

Plus there is that small fact that it was 2003 - just prior to his 10th birthday.

The Brick tourney is a spring tournament for all star teams. No sanctioning involved whatsoever beyond age limit. The Boston team likely saw him playing somewhere else and picked him up or they held on open try out and he made the team. Either way any kid can play wherever they want in spring hockey.

The Dustin Byfuglien video form this tournament is my favorite. I believe the kids would say "Like a Boss". And he still celebrates the same way when he scores.

Why aren't we asking why he is above the hash marks and then takes the puck behind his net?
