IIRC, MacInnis finished second to Fleury in 1991 by one point. AFAIK, that's as close as a defenseman got.

Bobby Orr is the only defenceman to lead a team in scoring. He had 46 goals and 89 assists for 135 points.

Didn't Karlsson lead the Sens one year? What about Weber? Thought he led the Preds a couple times as well

I think you mean the league. Both Shea Weber and Karlsson led the Preds and Sens last season.

Yeah, a handful of other guys have as well. Both Shea Weber of the Preds and Keith Yandle lead their respective teams is coring the previous two seasons. Brian Leech a couple times with the Rangers, Ray Bourque multiple times with the Bruins. Denis Potin with the Islanders.
It's not a huge list but not just one guy one time.

IIRC Rick Martin is the only player on that list who is not in the Hockey Hall Of Fame.
