The guy is all over the place and this guy can play offensively and defensively. Him and Giordano are by far one of the best or they might be the best defensemen tandem in the NHL right now.

And where is Martin Erat now? Almost completely out of the league. What a punk.

I will get flamed, but I thought Setoguchi was OK in this game. He played OK down low, and was better than Jones I thought. He was of course behind a bunch of other players but I didn't think he played badly. I didn't think Sven had any impact at all, but likely they were just easing him in.

Setoguchi was definitely OK, but OK is not good enough for a Hartley team, especially when there are so many hungry kids that are already better than Seto. His days as a Flame are numbered (unless you count Adriondack Flames).

With all due respect, if that's so, then pretty much the whole rest of the team got A or higher.

Well, the team dominated from start to finish.

Maybe, but if you just read posts, he was a negative. He wasn't. In fact, he was better than one of the hungry kids at least, and I'd put his game tonight ahead of at least one other vet.

Gio and Brodie definitely have to be top 3 pairing in the league right now. Arguing with those punks over at HF and many still believe they are in the 7-10 range in the league. Looks like their reputation of being under rated will last a long time.

Flames hit 17 points (and 7 wins) in Game 21 last season.
They're 8 games ahead of schedule.

I agree. I will say it was his best game all year, but it was still pretty average. I just think unless he finds a way to actually put up some points he's got no use on this team. He doesn't do much well besides scoring, and he's not doing that at all.

I agree with that though. We used to really lack speed and puckhandling on the D, and the whole team game suffered because of it. It used to be one of my biggest issues (if not THE biggest issue) with how the team was built.
Needless to say I'm pretty happy with that part of our game right now.
Would be nice if Diaz got his game together too. He looks super nervous and has been really prone to mistakes, but seems to have some skill.

Erat wasn't completely wrong, but he talks a lot of crap for someone who was a mediocre scoring winger. Now that he's barely hanging on to a job in the league his criticism rings pretty hollow.
As far as Diaz is concerned, he suffers from brain cramps, but you can see his confidence has been shaken with having to earn a contract on a PTO. I'm sure if he gets some more playing time he'll even out a little.

Flames are now tied for third spot overall in the NHL - will enjoy it however long it lasts.

Fun fact:
Brodie is currently 19th in league scoring. Some names below him:
Tavares
Ovechkin
