AC, any chance we can get a gif of the very clear "Tabernac!" from Julien after the EN goal? My favourite moment of tonight I think.
As for surprising analysts, remember there are 30 teams in the league. Before you say "so what! That's their job!", realize that on an average night there's between 10 and 35 hours of hockey to watch each night. They CAN'T watch it all. That means they focus on the games that drive the storylines - the good teams and the popular teams. Calgary is slowly turning heads, but a night like tonight will cause whiplash. Against Montreal, during an Eastern timezone viewing in a nationally broadcast game will push the story to the top of the heap.
By next week, the flames will be all over the various storylines.

3 out of 4 points against the top team in the east?
I wish that the habs would check out that blue line; something up with it. JJooris tripped on it for his goal, and then Subban fell crossing it.
GFG!

Blowouts are the best because they force the other team into this crisis mode where they have to have a bunch of closed door meetings and super hard morning skates to atone for their bad play. Haha!

I think it is because Hartley wants a net-front presence planted on the PP. With Seto's size, it makes sense, but he is not getting the job done. Glencross is out doing the same in the 2nd unit PP as well. Colborne was doing it until he got hurt. Might have to try Bollig in that role soon! lol

I think people have been a little harsh on Sven tonight. Let's give him a few games to get up to speed.

If we are talking point percentage, they're 12th, but I'll take that all day.
OMG…you know who's 13th? The Florida Panthers…
This is a nice realization for me. Go my teams!

Bob Hartley and Treliving both stated in the pre-season the thing they were both impressed with was the depth the organization has.
So when I really get to thinking if this iteration of the Calgary Flames can keep this pace up for the whole season I gotta say yes. Sure there'll be ebbs and flows throughout the year but Injuries won't slow this team down.
The real question was will the Flames get stable goaltending. I think thats been answered.
I predicted this team would finish the season one point out of a playoff spot narrowly missing the playoffs on a do or die last game of the season, as head towards the rest of this Eastern swing I have to say, they get in.

Last time the #Flames scored >5 goals, had >35 shots, and allowed 20 or fewer shots on the road was a 6-1 win in Edmonton on Feb. 9, 1994.

Edmonton is no good, just cause it's true.

The east is no good. If the Flames were in the east I would be confident that they would be in the playoff hunt the entire season. In the west it is going to be a tough go.
But the east is just inferior to the west right now. NO GOOD.

Says a lot when the best game of the season comes when the Flames are decimated by injury down the middle. 3 starting centers on IR and they don't miss a beat, I'm not sure if this franchise has seen anything like it since the 80's

My thread got locked so thought I'd put this here.
My Remix:
Deep down in Carney's point right in New Jersey
Way back up in the woods among the evergreen
There stood a hockey stick made of earth and wood
Where lived a country boy named Johnny Gaudreau
Who never ever learned to read or write so well
But he could play his stick like ringing a bell
Go go, go Johnny go go
Go Johnny go go, go Johnny go go
Go Johnny go go, Johnny B. Goode
He used to carry his stick in a hockey sack
And sit beneath the bridge by the railroad track
Oh, the Oiler fans would see him sitting in the shade
Humming "boy I wonder what it would take in a trade"
People passing by, they would stop and say
Oh my, that little New Jersey boy can play
Go go, go Johnny go go
Go Johnny go go, go Johnny go go
Go Johnny go go, Johnny B. Goode
His mother told him to finish school and be my little man
And you'll be the leader of this big old clan
Many people coming from miles around
To watch you deke and dazzle when the sun come down
Maybe someday your name will be in lights
saying Johnny be good tonight
Go go, go Johnny go go
Go Johnny go go, go Johnny go go
Go Johnny go go, Johnny B. Goode
Man it feels good to be a Flames fan right now!

If the Flames were in the East, the rebuild wouldn't have started yet because the last regime would still be making the playoffs every year
