Nice to catch Price on a night where he played human. Solid effort all 'round from everyone.

Great game. I have to admit I thought the Flames had a chance for McDavid to start the season, but now I'm thinking the playoffs are a real possibilty.

For the rookies:
- Gaudreau was great again.
- Baerstchi wasn't bad but besides that one scoring chance he didn't stand out much. He will have to pick it up to stay with the big club.
- Granlund scored but like Sven didn't stand out either.
- Jooris was awesome. Not sure how a nobody in the AHL can be playing this well. Even if he only tops out as a 4th liner he will be a good one.

$4.6 million well spent.
Agreed. I rewound that goal and watched it 5 times. Brodie has great vision, so fun to watch these guys play right now.

why discredit the flames?
Coming in, Hiller had a better GAA than Price did anyhow.

What's with Jooris? Dude is money on breakaways.

Biggest story of this team continues to be Giordano and Brodie. They are dominant and set the tone for the whole team. Awesome.

Sven was unfortunately mostly invisible.

Gaudreau was only ok this game. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Hiller appears to be a legit number one. I do worry just a little about Ramo though. I don't think he's far behind Hiller.

Setoguchi stinks, he's got to go. Good thing he's only making 750k.

Loving this team. They are going to be better than most people would have thought before the season started. I for one, will not be surprised if they make the playoffs.

I mean it's only 1 game, but when Raymond and Colborne are back it better be Seto and Jones (although I think he's been decent the past couple) that sit. JJ deserves to stay. Granlund is great on the JG-Hudler line. Was hoping for more from Sven tonight, but the rest of the kids were ridiculous.

not sure why the broadcasters were so shocked, the last meeting of the teams should have had a similar score

It's clear they haven't watched the Flames much this year, let alone that particular game.

Gio and Brodie combined for 1G, 4A, +5. I can't remember the Flames having a pair of dmen this good since Suter and Macinnis.

One thing I don't understand is why Setoguchi was on the first unit for every PP. He did absolutely nothing except kill several plays down low. Surely Granlund or Jooris would have provided more than that

We are now 7 points up on Edmonton (and Phoenix), who are now last in the West after the Coyotes win. More importantly, keeping pace with the top of the division. Three-way tie for second (Vancouver with games in hand).

Wait we are 5-2 on the road? What team is this? Historically we've usually been pretty brutal.
All I can say is I'm loving this young team!

Last ditch effort to try to get him going?
