Fellaini with the best game, I've seen of him at United.

If Chelsea win the league, and they probably will, they will be one of the most uninspiring boring teams to win it in years since the 1-0 to the Arsenal era.

it was by far his best game, it's not even close. Though he was also quite good against West Brom last week after coming on ... his physical strength was a major asset in the midfield battle today. Let's hope he can build on this and turn his United career around

Shaw was also fantastic today I thought

Schmeichel with a decent piece. Have to agree that Rojo, had a poor game.

Also, with Valdes training with United, apparently it spells the end for Lindegard. Hoping that's the case, and Valdes isn't signed as a long term contingency to a potential De Gea departure.

Maybe Southampton can keep pace! They're fun!

Southampton hosts Chelsea on Dec 28

A) How many points behind Chelsea will they be going into this match?
B) Can they win this match?

Was in fact the first time I've even noticed him in a positive manner. Like he just decided it's high time I started attacking rather than just dishing the ball off and falling back. He made some good runs, took on defenders and just looked a whole lot more like what I was expecting from him in the first place. Lot's of room for improvement but glimpses of potential are a good start.

Saints schedule hasn't taken them across any of the top clubs yet.
Well, unless Spurs count? Then if they do, surely so does West Ham.

They'll be coming back down to earth soon.

Saints have had a cup cake schedule so far

they have played two teams that figure to finish in the top 6 (spurs and liverpool) and they lost both

from end of November until early January they play Arsenal x2, Chelsea, City, Everton, United

they wont be anywhere near 2nd after that

No. In addition to being a massive twat, Mourinho is a tactician and will be able to come up with a plan for this match. Chelsea can be beat this season but it will be by one or more bottom-half clubs that surprise Mourinho and don't follow his script.

Steven Gerrard open to move from Liverpool if not offered new deal
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has revealed he could join another club if he is not offered a new contract.
The 34-year-old, who joined Liverpool's youth academy at the age of nine, ruled out the possibility of retirement when his current deal expires in May.
"I won't be retiring this summer. I will play beyond this season," the midfielder said.
"We will have to wait and see if that's at Liverpool or somewhere else. That's Liverpool's decision."

Liverpool need to do the right thing here and not offer him a new contract so he can go and win a title.

In all seriousness though, they should follow the Fergie model and offer him one year contracts. The question is does he accept that and use that as an excuse to get out?

I hope it's not the same situation as with Lampard. Obviously I'm far from being a Chelsea fan, but seeing him in City colours makes me mad. He should have had the opportunity to retire as a Chelsea player and Gerrard should have the same opportunity at Liverpool.

Rodgers said a while back that contracts for Gerrard, Coutinho, and a few others were already in the works. If he wants to stay in Liverpool then I'm pretty certain he'll have the option.

It's clear that he's not happy with how things have played out over the last few years though. I'd have no hard feelings if he wanted to have a go at a title somewhere else.

Would probably be best for Liverpool as well if he left, they can't keep playing him as much as they have and with him on the team his name makes him hard to drop

I retract what I said about Chelsea last week being dull based on today's game.

Playing really nice stuff albeit again QPR. Really nice goal by Oscar.

They definitely have gained the ability to play some pretty football but Mourinho has ensured they maintain a strict defensive discipline.

Wow Smalling absolutely brainless today. ManU playing decent and now down to 10 men for the rest of the way, will be tough.

Newcastle with another big win against Liverpool yesterday, Pardew remains safe for another week.
