Jian Ghomeshi may be a sleaze bag (I am not sure, but it is looking more and more like it), but he was good at his job.

It's like Michael Jackson. He may have been a pedo (alleged, lots of anecdotal evidence, nothing confirmed), but he was a good performer.
No question he is talented:

http://blogs.edmontonjournal.com/201...jian-ghomeshi/

Ghomeshi was the host of Q, the hippest, coolest, most internationally-acclaimed show on the CBC. His fans adore him. And through his show, and his autobiography, they felt they knew him, and well. That’s why so many of his fiercest partisans are expressing their unquestioning loyalty, no matter how sordid and disturbing the allegations against him. And it’s also why so many of his adoring fans are also recoiling in shock and horror. It’s not because they hate Ghomeshi. It’s because they loved him.

This is an essay from me, a former CBC Radio producer, about the power of radio itself. Whatever you may think or conclude about Jian Ghomeshi the man, he was a brilliant radio host: warm, witty, teasing, inviting, endlessly curious about a magnificently eclectic range of subjects, he drew the best from his guests, engaging them in seemingly effortless conversation. His apparent easy artlessness was, in fact, a piece of careful artifice. So was much of his on-air personality. It is that way with every great radio host. You think you are a friend. In fact you are a stranger – and so is the voice in your radio.

I was about to write that Ghomeshi is a great musician, and that radio was his instrument. But that’s not the right metaphor at all. He is a great musician, and WE were his instrument. He played us, his audience, and we resonated in tune. He was a pied piper to his generation, and where he led, listeners followed.

Its funny how it all appears that it was just a mask. He was funny and charming and smart and driven. But under that mask there be monsters.

Ted Bundy was brilliant and smart and charismatic but when you looked deeper into him there was basically a void, a lack of humanity.

I would argue that Jian's public face was a construct, a personality that he put in place to satisfy what sounds like the rage beast inside of him.

He's a very dangerous man in my opinion. I'm glad this came out so that woman can make their choices and know what he is.

He's been unmasked now, it will be interesting to see where this takes him.

things are heating up on the CBC side of things as well:

Quote:
Noorani writes: "At no time, was I approached with such allegations" of sexual impropriety about #JianGhomeshi ...

This is from an email written by CMG rep Timothy Neesam to my source: "we had a conversation about Jian behaving inappropriately.." 1/2

"..I spoke with a CBC Radio manager & I spoke with Arif Noorani. Arif said that he'd have a conversation with you..." 2/2

My source says she is 100% certain her complaint to Neesam mentioned #jianghomeshi abuse.

Arif Noorani, the exec producer of Q with #JianGhomeshi , has sent an email to colleagues in which he accusing one of my sources of lying.

Neesam's email also confirms that CBC management was informed of my sources' complaint against #JianGhomeshi
My apologies for the formatting, I blame twitter.

Q producer who alleges Ghomeshi threatened to ‘hate f—‘ her says she complained to boss in 2010

http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/10...-boss-in-2010/

“We were always on pins and needles, and we were always scared,” she said. “Jian had created this environment of tyranny, no one was standing up to him, everyone enabled his behaviour.”

When in 2010 she revealed to the show’s executive producer that the host had said he wanted to “hate f—” her, and had groped her buttocks, the manager suggested there was no point confronting Mr. Ghomeshi about his actions, the woman said.

“[The executive producer's] comment to me was …’He’s never going to change, you’re a malleable person, let’s talk about how you can make this a less toxic work environment for you,” the woman recalled. “No one was going to talk to Jian, he was too big. The show was a f—-ing juggernaut at that point. His face and name were inextricably linked with the brand of Q.”

The woman, now 35, also said she observed some unusual dating strategies by Mr. Ghomeshi. He would search for messages about him posted on Twitter or Facebook by women who appeared attractive, then contacted them directly, she said.

“He did this every single night,” the former producer said. “He was soliciting non stop. It was his playground.”

I would fully expect that there is going to be a major blood letting at the CBC, this could get worse because of the rivalry between other networks and the CBC as well. The other networks won't let this go. the CBC is praying to all that is mighty that they can bury it.

It gets worse if there are criminal charges.

But Jian's conduct is hideous and chilling.

This thing goes way beyond simple bondage games.

Certainly Sun News is making a meal out of it:

I suspect Q will soon be done as a franchise, and will be re-branded.

My morbid curiosity wants to know where Jian is and what he is doing, right now.

So obviously it would be in poor taste to dress up as Ghomeshi this year, one would think?

Looks like Lights (Canadian singer) just dropped him as her manager. She was pretty quick to defend him as her manager of 12 years on facebook but later deleted the post after more information came out.

He'll probably publicly come out with some sort of addiction (not drugs, like a sexual sadism addiction or something), get some dr. to verify the details, biography his fight with his demons as he reconciles with himself and come out smelling like a rose, with only minor criminal penalties. People will quickly forget that he was a monster and will laud him for his openness as he fought the good fight against his addictions. Poor Jian.

Jian Ghomeshi can be cured if what is (Alleged )is in fact true.

Just needs some intense counselling.

His tight fitting Jean Jackets - More to this story? Or just the way he likes to dress?

Ghomeshi is a sexual predator in the truest sense of the word. That teddy bear is something straight out of a horror movie

At first I was thinking CBC did a good job getting ahead and firing the guy, but now with things leaking out here and there, they too have shti on their hands. Now it's starting to look like they turned a blind eye to it and only when it started to boil over, did they have to look into it. Jian flinched first as he got nervous, and CBC wanting to look rosy in all this, fired him. Now I hope not only Jian is investigated, but CBC as well.

Globe & Mail news alert on my phone:

"Two women have come forward to Toronto Police about Jian Ghomeshi and an investigation has begun, police spokesman Mark Pugash said. More to come."
