It doesn't. But as a hobbyist, I had heard amazing things about the game. I was misguided.
Yep. Just was commenting. When you reread my post pretend I say "Hunh!" infront of my sentences.

Yep and I was just commenting that nobody cares if it's a system seller and you haven't been misguided about anything as the game is a blast.

And just what games out there right now are "system sellers?" I'd argue that a year into release there hasn't been a single game that you could call a system seller. Actually, correction, Mario Kart and Smash Bros for the Wii:U are the only games that will sell consoles.

None for either the XB1 or the PS4.
Which is why it's disappointing when games get hyped and you think "is this is? Is this the game that forces my hand?" aaaaand no... once again it's not.

Gotcha. I think that's totally fair and it's the same attitude I've had. They need to offer up something that I can't get on PC. Nintendo is so close to taking my money.

I still don't follow your argument. We all knew for the most part the next generation of consoles was only going to offer better graphics and for the most part they have. I count three overhyped games this generation so far in Infamous, Titanfall, and Destiny so I feel you are kind of exaggerating with your talk of all these hyped games. I agree and have said here many times this past year has been a down year for gaming in general as great titles have been few and far between but things have ramped up since the end of summer as there have been some quality releases that aren't system sellers but still good games. I'm not sure why you are upset with no games forcing your hand as that means you are largely content with the systems you have which is good for you and your wallet.
Sunset Overdrive would be a great game last generation and happens to be a great game this generation. I simply don't see how you could be disappointed with that as I went back to E3 and don't recall any hype that this game was going to be a game changer like Destiny was hype to be. If you built those expectations yourself then that's your own personal of expecting the game to be something it was never hyped to be.

Master Chief Collection is a system seller. That's an absurd amount of content/value for one game.

I have to believe that the Xbone will finally break the NPD streak for November and beat the PS4 monthly sales in an absolute landslide. Probably for December as well.
Finally start to close that sales gap a little.

Never played any of the Halo series, so this is what is really getting me to consider picking up an Xbox One. Sunset Overdrive and the recent patch to enable streaming video from a PC are definitely helping too

106 multiplayer maps! That's madness.
I played the crap out of Halo 1 and 2 but never much of 3 or 4. The Forge map editor really interests me a lot too (I love creation elements in console games, LittleBigPlanet 3 is high on my list too). Should be a good November.

What argument?
Sunset Overdrive was pretty widely hyped as a system seller. I was excited, I wanted "that" game to push me into grabbing the system. Now it doesn't really look all that incredible.
There's no argument. You said nobody cares if it's a system seller, I said I do because I cared whether it was good enough to sell the system for me. It isn't. I WANT to grab the system, I just can't justify it until there is a must-have game.
There isn't an argument to understand Erick, so relax a little. Nothing negative on this side, I'm sure it's a perfectly enjoyable game

So how exactly is the Halo collection setup? Are there 4 separate games on one disc and you have to manually switch between them, or is everything somehow bundled together so if you start multiplayer you could end up bouncing between? I've assumed the former simply for how difficult the later would be to implement

wont be a landslide if at all
multiplats are still better on PS4 are there are some big ones coming out
Xbone price drop will be the biggest factor that might turn the tide...in the US anyway

It's supposedly all seamless. The games can be played separately in their original forms or "fused" together in the form of playlists (for both MP and SP) that combine maps/levels from different games in the series.
Edit: I'm not 100 percent sure how it works in multiplayer. There's some mechanism by which you can be playing Blood Gulch from Halo 1 in one round and a Halo 4 map next, but I'm not sure if these are setlists predetermined by 343, or what.
Edit #2: Either way, it's going to be bloody awesome. Can't wait.

I was reading about the various multiplayer playlists they have:
http://ca.ign.com/articles/2014/10/0...aled-ign-first
Basically, there are playlists that only include one or certain games, and others that include maps from all the games. It's a pretty cool set-up.

I think chemgear brought this up before but it is very odd that Microsoft didn't make a Halo bundle as I only see positive implications and few if any negatives. Only thing I can think of is that they may have wanted to maximize profits from software sales rather than giving the title away in bundles.

Why even give it away or discount it at all? Let's say the system is still $400 and set aside the recent price cut. Even a $470 Halo bundle can't hurt sales at all could it?
Just the cost of printing up the boxes and sticking in the game. Heck, you could even do it digitally (rather than a physical disk) and even save the cost there.
Yeah, I agree doesn't seem to make sense to me.

Console screenshots of AC4 - Parity is starting to leak out. I hope they are fake. Really, really fake.
The Vaseline smearing upscaling looks terrible. And what is with the female NPC in the bottom left along with the serrated blade?

I honestly don't see how those are real....the upscaled version of black flag looked better than that.
