I like it.
I'd like it better with Jones dropped down to 3-4. But seeing as how that wouldn't happen, I agree.

agreed but I felt that pairing a small winger with a big winger on each line balances thr lineup better.

Jooris or Ferland are fairly big. And may play bigger than Jones. But I'm not arguing.

ferland and Granlund would be my guess.

Hope Stajan's knee isn't wrecked. But this is a good oppurtunity for some of the young guys.

If nothing's torn I'm guessing Stajan will be out for 6 weeks.

I really want to see what Granlund brings at the NHL level. I think he's better than what people may think.

Knight or Granlund.
We have two healthy wingers with the team already so no need to call up a winger (My guess is Setoguchi draws back in) but with Stajan out and with Colborne, the part-time center, also out they’ll need a center.
As for who, it all depends on how they want to play it… if they intend on having Bouma temporarily be 3C and have the call-up play on the fourth then I figure it’ll be more of a checker type (Knight) if they want to keep Bouma on the fourth line then they give Monahan more responsibility and call-up Granlund to be 3C.

Granlund almost has to be the first call up, but the second callup (if there is one) will be more interesting. If it's based on the first few weeks of the AHL season, it will be Ferland, but a reasonable argument could be made that giving Baertschi a shot to cement a spot in Calgary would be the best thing for the future of the team.

Hopefully whoever comes up takes advantage of the opportunity and gives Treliving the confidence to ship out some veterans to make permanent roster spots for young guys.

I love Sven as much as everybody on here, but calling him up ahead of Ferland sends the wrong message. Ferland arguable had a slightly better training camp and certainly the better start to the season. He leads the AHL Flames in goals, assists, points and +/-, it shouldn't be a question if he's the next in line or the guy who has a single point so far. Add to the fact that Ferland has the size to play in the bottom six and can also play on the other wing (Sven can't), then it's a pretty easy decision if you ask me.

I realize that Sven has (according to people on here who watch the AHL team on a regular basis) played better than his stats imply, but if it's based on merit, than Ferland has to get the call before Sven does. Sucks for Sven that a 5th rounder (Ferland) and an undrafted UFA (Jooris) deserve the call before he does, but he has to use that as extra motivation and play his heart out. If he does, he'll be up there soon in any case.

I think it could also depend on how long Stajan's injury is for. I am not for Baertschi getting called up before Ferland or Granlund, but if Stajan is out for longer than 2 months, maybe calling up Sven would make sense since he has the most experience in the NHL down in Addy.

Ferland or Granlund before Sven. This will provide Sven a good opportunity to step in and take some leadership in place of Adirondack losing one of their leading scorers.

That would be a slap to the face to the "Everything Earn not Given" mantra the Flames are adopting. If Sven gets called up over Ferland it would cause a lot of resentment among the other prospects.

I will play devil's advocate and say that Sven will be called up and play top 6. Burke will want to show him off a bit and get his value up before trading him.

Did Treliving quit or get fired?

I wish we could call all 3 of those kids to help out. Any problem with that other than figuring out who to send down there?

It's a small undercurrent around here. Somehow Treliving is a puppet and Burke is the puppet master. With no evidence to support it.

I mean, it's just a small number of folk who either don't follow the Flames enough or don the tin foil hats when it comes to Flames management.

On the the subject. His name is Markus, Markus Granlund. The one who will be summoned from NY.

And I'd say Ferland but I also have a sneaking suspicion that Sven will be the other when needed.

You should apply to become an editor for a newspaper company or something.

I'd like to see Ferland and Granlund up.

I would guess Granlund would come up since he's a centre and you aren't going to play with two centres. Setoguchi would probably slot in somewhere and they'd go with 13 forwards.
