It's rather amazing to see how good the Islanders are this year. Doubly so given how horribly wrong Snow did everything last year, and how completely right it's gone this year.

Boychuk and Leddy trades are working out very well so far.

Kulemin and Grabovski signings also proving effective. Very underrated players.

Buffalo is a gong show. Lupul gets hooked down on a breakaway, but Van Rymsdyk picks the puck up and just continues the breakaway. Hit the post though.

They're actually kind of fun to watch this year. And Brock Nelson with 6 goals already this year, wth? And as sureloss said, the 2 trades for the d-men look like great moves so far.

Speaking of, Grabovski scores the tying goal as the Islanders bail Halak out. 3-3 late in the second.

Why is Pavelec still in the league? My god is he ever awful. What do the Jets see in him?

Jets are probably stuck with Pavelec. Probably should have been bought out in the summer.
Still don't understand why they didn't go after Hiller.

Visnovsky made a sweet little spin around move with the puck and then dished it behind his back to Grabovski to set up that goal. Very nice moves.

Really not sure how much worse it can get than him. Must suck to be a teammate of his knowing he sucks and won't bail out the team or make the saves he's supposed to make.
I don't think they should be stuck with him. Heck, give Brodeur a call and see what happens. And I am not even a fan of Brodeur at his age but he can't be worse than Pavelec.

I don't think it is. The tale. On the roster is more in line with the team that made the playoffs rather than the one that picked top 5 last year. Brock Nelson's emergence is huge but Snow really hit home runs adding Leddy and Boychuck. Grabovski, Kulimen, Halak were 3 other solid veteran additions. Add to that some of their young prospects like Strome and Reinhart battle g for spots and having an elite Center entering his prime in Tavares the Islanders are actually playing to their potential.
Considering g their history the fact it looks like Snow made some solid moves is surprising

Tyler Johnson now leads the NHL with 10 assists in 10 games. Not bad.

Smith-Pelly gets a shorthanded breakaway goal for the only score in the Ducks/'Hawks Game...Josh Gibson with the SO...Scott Darling with a solid outing for the 'Hawks.

Buffalo with a craptacular 10 shots tonight.....
Down Goes Brown@DownGoesBrown · 1h 1 hour ago
Prior to tonight, the Maple Leaf franchise record for fewest shots allowed in a game against an NHL team was 13. After tonight, it still is.
