I register for a course and then forget about it, and later find out in horror of its existence and the 0s across the board from not actually showing up to that class. That is my recurring university nightmare, nothing exam related though.

It gives me wild dreams as well.
I have one where I keep trying to take all the double bubble gum out of my mouth and eventually my teeth start coming out with it.
I haven't had one in a while, but, sex dreams where you wake up half way through are a huge piss off.ha

Here's a recurring dream my wife has:
She's speaking at a business conference in front of a large audience, but for some reason she's completely naked. Somehow, though, nobody else seems to realize she's naked, so she has to covertly navigate the room and find some clothes and get dressed without anyone noticing.

Like huntingwhale, I'm able to continue a dream while half awake quite often
I also have dreams taking place in the same place all the the time. Ever since I was very young I dream about are the blue (are they even still blue?) townhouses beside 7-11 in woodbine, and there I'm able to jump across all the yards fence to fence. I'm usually running from someone
Another place is my old street, and the most common one lately has been a house I've never been in, I'm sure it's probably something I saw on TV or a movie. I can't remember what it looks like right now but everytime I dream I'm in there I recognize it instantly

I get weird ones where I'm dreaming, but I'm aware I'm dreaming (well I'm aware now, that took a few years to figure out), but I'm paralyzed and gasping for air.
Always the same dream, being held down and smothered and I feel like I need to kick or move to fight them off but I can't and then that I can't breathe or wake myself up. It's a good 5 minutes of feeling like I'm trying to kick my legs but not moving and gasping for air. And yet, I've had someone next to me while I was having the dream and they said I wasn't moving and I wasn't gasping for air, I looked just fine.
Apparently it's an anxiety thing. Most people get one or two episodes in a lifetime, I get them once or twice a month.

I seem to have really intense and vivid dreams after drinking heavily (i.e. vacations with consecutive days of drinking).
I'm talking dreams that you fully believe are happening and make you wake up in a sweat. The most intense one was after a pretty booze filled ski trip where I had a dream that I was at a boot camp and they were firing live rounds over our heads and some guy was trying to get me to pick my head up (i.e. get myself killed) and then he did it himself. Woke me up in a cold sweat.
I do not like those dreams. The worst part is I usually know when they're coming cause I feel really weird and exhausted before falling asleep. Vivid dreams are a symptom of alcohol withdrawal so I have no one to blame than myself. Luckily it's rare that I drink that many days in a row so I don't suffer through them too often.

I sometimes have dreams where I'm buried alive in a coffin. I can hear the dirt being shoveled on top of me with my screams of me being still alive not being heard. Just before I pass out from a lack of oxygen I wake up breathing quite fast. I've been told that my dreams represent my morbid fear of tight and small enclosed spaces.

Like Huntingwhale and Wood, I also am able to semi-control dreams when I am half awake.
I have what I believe to be an ongoing dream that occurs only every now and then. When I wake up I can only remember it for a short time, and then it is completely gone. It fades so quickly from memory when I wake up that I can be telling someone about it, but then it goes, even mid - sentence. It's a dream that I have been having for as long as I can remember though and I know that I have crazy journey's in this, and like others said, it's like a whole other life that I live. This is one of the ones that I can semi-control.
I quite often have the dream where I float around.
I used to have the free fall dream but that hasn't happened in years.
My scariest repeating dream is the "forget your skates dream" where you're gearing up for hockey only to realize that your skates aren't there. I have had that dream since I was a kid. When the Traigically Hip song, "It's a Good Life if You Don't Weaken" came out, it was the first time I realized I was not the only one who has ever had this dream.

Also possibly known as sleep paralysis. It's when your mind is awake, however you have no motor functions yet as your body still thinks you're asleep. It's happened to me a couple times. I'm awake, but I cannot move. Panic ensues. Luckily that doesn't happen to me too often and I have no idea if that is what happens to you, but ya it can be quite scary.
I also get this one thing that happens to me where I'm semi-conscious and I have this electronic buzzing sound in my ears. It's almost like a wave and the buzzing gets stronger and weaker. Like a radio slowly losing then regaining it's signal. Sometimes it can shock me awake. Drives me crazy when that happens.

An annoying one I have often is that ill be doing something simple, like walking or trying to catch a ball, and ill be completely incapable of doing it. I'll try to walk and not go anywhere, or ill drop every ball

The exam dream I have quite often, it was particularly bad while doing my Masters; I would wake up thinking I did miss an exam.
Also, when I lost my job and had trouble finding one, I'd constantly dream of having my old job back or them calling me back and saying we've made a mistake.

I've had dreams where I swear I'm completely awake. Where I need to go to the bathroom or get a glass of water. In those dreams the electricity never works and I have a fear of completely impeding doom.
I've had dreams where I'm lying awake in bed, and I feel fully conscious and I'm staring at the alarm clock dreading it going off, and then I get flung into the ceiling or something like that.

I also get the final exam dream very often; 7 years since graduation.
Thats' the only recurring dream I can pinpoint to having a lot.

I used to really be into dreams and could do a lot of things in them, and I still remember a few that I had, mostly because I would write them down as soon as I woke up. I gave that up a long time ago, and lost that control, but I still have some interesting dreams.
I can't fly in my dreams. I have to pull myself up, kinda like Spiderman. I also can't run. I try to get my legs move, but I just can't run faster than slow motion. Very strange.

-crumbling teeth
-getting caught in undertow and not being able to swim back to the surface
-I can fly, but only a foot off the ground
-at the end of my street where I grew up there's a trail. But instead of just going into the bush it goes out to this long peninsula with this wicked beach.
-I hear giants footsteps (heartbeat?) and I panic trying to get away from it.
-I'm hanging out behind my parents house and I see all these feathers stick out from behind bushes. They're Indians ready to shoot me with arrows.
-trying to fight someone, but all my punches happen in slo-mo and I wind up getting my butt kicked
Had a dream last night I was in Tofino at a surfing competition... it was awesome! Surfer boys.... mmmmm, mmmmmm...

I've also had the exam dream. My specific twist to it is that I misread the schedule, and totally work my ass of on a difficult course, only to realize that not only will I fail that course, but it wasn't even the right course to begin with.
Lately, however, I have been having a really awesome type of dream. I'll occasionally dream of a show I have been watching, like How I Met Your Mother, and the dream is a brand new epsiode, and it's always funnier than the show, like the jokes are perfectly designed to make me laugh, and I wake up busting a gut laughing. It is the polar opposite of waking up fearful and sweating, and I wish I had more of them.

Controlling your dream is a lucid dream if I'm not mistaken.
Certain symbolism occurs in dreams. For instance, nude generally signifies vulnerability.
For my school dreams, I have a weird dream where I am being called to school and they say that I technically haven't finished yet and they forgot to inform me for 2.5 years and I have to finish all the unfinished homework within a week.
I have another one where I go to an exam and am told it must be hand written vs done on a computer (everyone else has a computer). I write by hand, feel confident throughout and get the highest mark.

I have a dream most nights. It starts on a playground. There's kids swinging, laughing, dogs barking, butterflies just flapping their little wings. And then you hear a rumbling, and over the horizon comes a black cloud and it's made of cancer and pus. And it starts sweeping over the playground and everyone starts screaming and clawing their eyes and pulling at their hair, and saying "Help! What do we do?" And you know what happens next? Out steps me wielding the biggest shotgun you've ever seen in your whole life. And you know what I do? I blow every thing away. And I am getting God's work done. When it's all over and the dust has settled, the whole world gathers below me and they say, "Thank you, Ronnie, thank you for helping, being a great man and doing this for us." And you know what I say? "You don't need to thank me. I'm just a guy with a gun. I'm just a cop."

Random one, but just last night I had a dream the Flames lost a game 18-1

I've never had the teeth one but I've had a recurring dream for many years where I'm in the kitchen chopping vegetables and I chop my fingers off/bring the blade down right on my fingers. It's weird too, because I've never had any knife related accidents beyond the odd cut or nick, and I chop vegetables on a daily basis.
