Didn't want to create a new thread so figured this was the most fitting one to bump since it's related...
Is there a good website to check what events are going on in the city for the week? So far I've found Swerve and Avenue which have some, but it's certainly not a comprehensive list.
TIA.

My trick was talk a girl into going and playing pool. Then when you're playing kind of cheat a little but not really, like in a playful non mean spirited way like grabbing the end of her cue when she's shooting and whatnot. When she has to shoot and you are in the way don't move, she'll always forceably move you in a playful way hip to hip bump. Then you're in and she'll be trying to pick you up. Worked every time.

I like to tell people that I used to be in a band, and now host a radio show.
Then I hit them.

Take her to CPO. Buy good seats. I like the ones on the second level, over the percussion section, just behind the violin section (you can see their sheet music) and in amazing view of the keys of the piano if the instrument is used that night. From these seats you can literally feel the orchestra swell all over your body when they crescendo (get loud) and the balance between the instruments is outstanding. Also, being so close, they seem much louder than anywhere else in the hall.
Tell her to dress nice but don't say why. Show up dressed to impress. Full three-piece suit and a pimp tie. Get some gin, and walk her into the hall while the orchestra is still warming up. Take the time to learn whats on the program and wiki up some neat conversation bits about the music, composer, or whatever. Doesn't have to be much, its okay to not be an expert, but it shows thought.
There is nothing like an orchestra. So many people performing at such a high level with world class precision. Maybe the music isn't your style or taste, but it doesn't matter when its that good.
Then after, while still dressed up, go find a dance-club or a rock-bar and get some drinks in. People will ask why you're dressed up. If she had a good time then she will be gushing about what you went to, thus talking you up to herself (without her realizing it) and you will look like a prince.

Canoe club rents everything for under 20 bucks

I think that is also dependent on your comfort of above-water sports. For me in particular, I don't think i'd good with that. I think i would use the paddle in a way that I would splish and splash around a lot without getting anywhere while flinging liquid wetness everywhere, eventually making her all we.....soaked.

Hey here's a happy bump/update...
The girl who I took on the date that I started this thread for just made our relationship "official". I deleted my tinder and everything
The first date was sushi and attempted go-karting but she wore the wrong shoes!
Still it all worked out

Log in to CP and just ask her.
She'll say she wants to go to a Flames game.
Win win.

But did she wear the right leather bondage outfit for the party afterwards? You might want to get Jian Ghomeshi to test it's durability and comfort.

No one has mentioned a Flames game? You get to talk, watch the game, great atmosphere, eat and drink. Regardless if the girl isn't interested in hockey, I think it makes for an underrated date night.
