Taking a guess, it would appear the larger selection of Wildrose brews has caused some of their vendors to stop ordering it. As I said, I've been having a hard time finding it on tap in Calgary, and I used to order it quit regularly.

Going from 4 "core" brews to 6 it looks like our poor Brown Ale has become the odd man out when it comes to shelf/tap space

Wildrose doesn't even include it in their anthology 12-pack.

Non Brown Ale related beer news:
Went to the Stone Brewing launch party at Craft earlier this week. Had three of their beers:
- Arrogant #######: My favourite of the night, yes it's hoppy as hell, but got a night smokey malt flavour as well. If you're a little burned out on the "hops wars" this was has more flavour going on then just plain "hops for the sake of hops"
- Stone IPA: Pretty decent as far as "hopped to hell" IPA's go. Reminds me a bit of Last Best IPA with a slight fruity/citrus flavour in addition to the bitter hops
- Smoked Porter: Really nice smokey flavour, almost like drinking a camp fire. Paired really well with the grilled fish tacos I had. Imagine it would go great with BBQ.

Maybe it's been mentioned but I recently found out about the Untappd app on Android/iPhone/Windows phone that allows to rate and comment on beer. I find it great because after trying so many different beers it's hard to keep track of the ones you like or don't like and this app lets you do that.

Ah, this has that signature Hanssens funk, dirty as they come without becoming truly nasty. This smells of woody, moldy mushrooms, musty cellar notes, funky enteric notes, butyric barnyard notes, phenolic and sweat soaked dried leather, musky animal notes are the up front note, but there is a nice berry-like, fruity currant note that sort of ties the back end together. Other notes of spicy, woody oak and puffed wheat cereal notes that are actually quite strong. A lactic induced tartness is here, a touch of urea as well, and the fruit character also adds a tannic, berry skin note that helps to boost the currant character.
Delicious.

Just a heads up in case anyone is still searching for the WR Brown, I bought a pack of it today at the Highlander in Marda Loop, they had quite a few there.

I have a new favorite beer. What GMG is that I don't think I will be tasting its deliciousness for many moons.

Electric Unicorn IPA from Phillips brewery in Victoria. Damn thats good stuff. They only release it to restaurants and sell a little bit in local stores. So it will be the forbidden fruit until I am back again.

Saw that at Co-op recently, but the price point was a bit too rich for my blood. Be sure to post lots of pics/reviews as you work you're way through that sucker, interested to see what they included.

Yeah I thought about it too, but it's like $6 a beer when it's all said and done so I said what the heck.

It was honestly delicious. I recommend trying our some spontaneously fermented or Brett beers.

Lambics are really cool.

Worth trying, and try a real one, not a super sugary more common one.

They are super unique. I love them personally.

Hanni also had a confirmed sighting in Lacombe.

Yeah $6 a beer isn't outrageous, just dropping $145 in one go with the intention of it being a "beer a day" for 3 weeks is too rich for my blood.

Not saying it's a bad purchase, just not sure I can justify such a purchase to the wife "yeah uh, I'm gonna spend $145 on beer for the month of December... yeah I still plan to drink on vacation... why?" #beergut

Yeah it was pretty good. I found it sweeter than I expected though.

Advent calendar Beer #2 from Finland (hippaheikki) was a bit bitter for my liking. It does say bitter on the bottle though and it actually got better tasting as it went down. A light 4.7% as opposed to last night's 10%er!

Day 3 from Cornwall UK and the Penpont Brewery. Chateau Civrac Old Ale, cask aged strong ale (7.5%). I thought this was fantastic, probably my favorite of the 3 so far.
