Who gets sent down when David Jones is back?
With the way Setoguchi has been playing and the way Jooris has been playing I think this is a pretty intriguing topic.
Jooris / Gaudreau both deserve a spot on this team based on how they're playing but they can be sent down easier than anyone else (not having to clear waivers).
So is the trial over for Setoguchi already or do we make a trade and nobody gets sent down?

It will very likely be Jooris.
Id prefer it be Setoguchi though.

Jooris has been noticeable every time he's on the ice. But if they want to give Setoguchi enough rope to hang himself, that's fine too.

pretty sure Jones will get injured on his way to the dome. No one is sent down.

Jooris will get sent back. Setoguchi will be given more time to try to turn it around.

Hopefully David Jones, likely Jooris. Can't be permanent on the team with the number 86. (Stupid Burke)

Jooris. I feel like if we play him too much with his current play style, he's going to hurt himself.

Seto needs to score a point by the time Jones is back, more specifically, he needs to score a goal since that's what he's here for. If he doesn't, I don't see what he brings to the team over a guy like Jooris or even Jones.
4 games, 0 points, -2, 1 shot on goal. What is he adding? I'm all for giving him a chance to produce, but he isn't even getting shots on goal and he's a poor skater with below average defensive awareness and hockey IQ.
Even in D. Jones 1 games, he got 2 shots on goal.
I think 10 games is enough of a sample size to see if Setoguchi is a useful player.

How many chances does Setoguchi deserve? I heard a stat that's he got something like 1 assist in his last 30 games (including preseason).
The guy does not have the offense he once did, and it's not coming back.

No one. There will be a trade. I don't know when, I don't know where, I don't know who it will involve, but a trade is going to occur.

Jooris. But he might come back if/when the Flames decide to cut bait with Setoguchi.

I hope David Jones gets sent down at least for a conditioning stint. I would prefer to keep the young guys up.

The question was who do we think. If I'm GM, Jorris in on this team, Setoguchi is put on waivers and sent to the minors when he inevitably clears. See if he can get some confidence in the A.

If he goes on waivers, 10 bucks says Cheveldayoff takes him back.

Apologies if this comes across as glib or flippant but who knows honestly. The fact is injuries can happen in a split second and by the time Jones is ready there could be 2-3 more forwards hurt. Not too often throughout a season you'll have a fully healthy roster.

His last regular season point (assist) was March 19, 2014. That was 9 regular season games ago. In the last 30 regular season games he has 6 points. His numbers are really ugly as of Jan 1, 2014.

I think we cut ties with Setoguchi. Hartley seems to really like Jooris as he is getting big minutes at important times. Big game tonight for Jooris that could cement his place on this team.

Fair point, especially the way guys like Bouma and Jooris play. It's just a "what if" since we have a solid call up in Jooris outplaying a veteran like Setoguchi so far.
