Yup sounds like he completely jumped the gun. Not a single other confirm at this point. Twitter has become about being first more than being right.

Ya, it would be awesome if that mace had a permanent dent in it because he wrapped it around one of the shooters head.

We're not the country these people want us to be yet. And if we ever do respond to these things in this manner, then they have won.

Canada, as a country, is not so harsh and extreme and I would become heart broken if it ever became as such.

I am 99% sure Kenney was not supposed to tweet that. Doesn't make sense that it'd come from him. Even more surprised that CBC is citing his tweet as confirmation.

AB Legislature here in Edmonton is in the same state as the Canadian Embassy in DC; not really a lockdown but no entrance without an ID type of deal.

Shooting a soldier guarding the tomb of the unknown soldier is an unspeakably evil crime.

Very happy to see a seemingly random Canadian risk attending to the soldier after he was shot. At least he knew we were with him when he passed.

I don't think that is necessarily true.

Last night on CBC, they said that there was a raised alert for a terrorist attack. I don't think they ignored it, they probably didn't have enough to go on.

Could we maybe wait a day before we turn this political? I'm sure there will be ample opportunity.

Bet you its his PR intern who had an itchy trigger finger. I doubt he himself tweeted it.

Just going off what I heard on the news.

I wouldn't believe that they would just ignore it

That's ridiculously dumb on his part.

John Williamson also tweeted it, saying that Conservative Caucus was notified of the death, so presumably he and Kenney were hearing it from the same source. Hopefully that source is wrong, though it certainly doesn't look good right now.

Agreed, it also goes to the point that we must set an example of how to conduct a country should conduct its self during such duress. We are not the type of country that will go exact revenge but will obtain justice.

Revenge =/ justice.

This is definitely a tense time for our country, but please, let's try to keep things civil and level headed in here. Please.
