Reports from Bob Zimmer MP and ROger Kingkade at AM770 that lone gunman shot and killed. Unconfirmed right now.

edit: but there may be a second shooter.

CBC not holding back. Showing video of them doing CPR on the soldier at the moment.

I wonder if this is related to the hit and run nut from the other day? Scary stuff.

If you're talking about CBC, she said Parliament Hill, not our nation.

That was my first thought as well... I would actually be surprised if they're not connected.

Seems the soldier shot was standing on guard at the War Memorial? Do they do that over there?

Global reporting shooter possibly wearing an "Arab-looking scarf". Speculation though without confirmed reports.

I thought that might be what she said but I didn't get it clear, it's loud in here. That would make more sense.

Given both targeted soldiers, that is not a wild guess given what little we know at this point.

Edit: I should say related in terms of ideology or as a copycat. Probably not as a coordinated plan.

I'm hearing from an unofficial source "potential suspect apprehended".

For every tweet I see that says suspect apprehended, I see one that says they're pushing us back still, suspect still at large, and another that says the suspect has been shot down.

Because thankfully they'll do a bit of work to confirm something before they say it on air. No rules on Twitter.

What? I heard it as breaking new on CBC Radio 1 as I was coming in to work this morning and Peter Mansbridge is currently covering the situation live on CBC television. Web link here: http://www.cbc.ca/player/News/ID/2396780283/

My buddy told me there was a shooting today, and I though "oh okay, must be gang violence, there has been a lot of that thos year". I didn't expect this...this is far more concerning.

Eyewitness on CBC news is saying the shooter was armed with a rifle and was wearing a hoodie and bandanna.

They haven't mentioned any unconfirmed reports of the suspect being killed... they are certainly following the story.
