I think it's just players needing to get used to each other. His linemates will learn to keep their head up and know where Gaudreau is and to expect a pass from anywhere. And Gaudreau will learn where his linemates are.

The way he passes with his wrists so much makes it hard to predict because it's hard to tell he's going to pass resulting in less reaction time available.
