Well yeah there is no cap limit but there is an understanding you don't pay the junior partner more than the senior. Players use salary as kind of a pecking order. I'm not saying Giordano would be that upset, probably not but management recognizes how things go and tries to comply.

Of the players you listed only Wideman was signed after Gio did his latest deal and Wideman was a UFA. Salary amounts get thrown way out of whack when dealing with UFAs. Also Giordano was not the top defenceman and captain when Wideman was signed, Bouwmeester was the highest paid and top defenceman.

Listening to Boomer Gordon on XM radio today he thought the Flames overpaid for Brodie.
No big surprise as Boomer has taken many shots at the Flames.

Didn't really say why he thought Brodie was overpaid except he is benefiting from playing with Giordano. He used the Batman Robin analogy basically calling Brodie the Robin of the two.

Pretty frustrating considering how little he watches the west and the Flames.

I listen a lot and have to disagree here. Boomer is bullish on Gaudreau and the flames in general, just doesn't think there's much on the roster there yet.

His season previews are always the gold standard and really insightful on all 30 teams. He does think that Brodie is mostly good because of Gio, but he certainly isn't alone and it's not because of a bias. He openly admits he doesn't see much of the west outside of the better teams, so that does play into it

Hey, that's the same guy the Lightning got for Drouin!

Maybe with Camalleri in the line up the Lightning might have played more than 4 gameS in the 2014 playoffs.

Druoin sure didn't help them and neither did Mr. NOBODY.

Well the Lightning didn't trade for Mr. NOBODY, so of course he wouldn't help them.

Why the heck are we talking about Drouin?

Because Rerun suggested we could have traded Cammaleri for Drouin and it spilled into this thread. Not that it matters as it's off topic. But funny

Changing the topic a little to the comparison to Phaneuf, one thing that happened is that Brodie and Giordano both served their time in the AHL, even Subban spent a year in the AHL. Perhaps where things went wrong for Phaneuf was right from the start when they kept him up with the Flames in his first year. A year in the A learning defence before he got called up may have changed Phaneuf's career for the better.

No, that's not it at all. Its because devo22 decided to make a smart ass comment and brought the whole thing up, even though it has nothing to do with the topic of the thread.

Way too many posters on here (and we all know who they are... you are not one of them SP) who act like 12 year old children who can hardly wait for the opportunity to try and humiliate, deride, embarrass, and degrade others for the comments they make or the ideas they post.

I'm not surprised that this happens though. There are many childish people in this world who get great pleasure from putting down others... I'm just surprised that the mods on here allow it to happen so much.

I'm not sure that's fair. You get very emotional and say some outrageous and outlandish things. That's going to get brought up from time to time because you continue to do it.

Because as shown time and time again, especially when he goes on a posting/thread starting spree, Rerun has a total and complete lack of self awareness.

Tough to see and comment on something you don't watch, which makes the previous observation a valid one. In addition to being bullish, he's ignorant on some matters. The take on Brodie is a perfect example.

I see... so anyone on here who says things on here that the majority on here disagree with deserves to get a beat down and everyone should have their chance to get a kick or two in?

Is this the type of CP you want? Where the bullies rule and the sheep follow?

Suggesting we could have made anything remotely close to a Cammy for Drouin trade was absolutely ridiclous. It wasn't an opinion disagreed with, it was straight out of lala land.

As was suggesting Hartely sat Gaudreau because he doesn't like him.

Getting emotional and saying outlandish things will tend to meet with those kind of responses. All I'm saying is you shouldn't be surprised when people bring things like that up.

Honestly, if you hadn't post trying to point out how awesome you are for predicting something that was about as bold as Tim Horton's coffee, people probably wouldn't have bothered.

.... buuuuuut you did. And then you went off over the Cammy non-trade again ... so it continues

Yes not surprising you showed up in this. You are one of the worst for this type of behaviour.

Did you get beat up a lot as a kid and now's your chance to be the bully for a change?... anonomously of course, hidden behind a user name.
