Whatever the hockey conversation is 9/10 times if you have the opposite opinion of Healy's you are 100% on the right side of being right. He is such a troll.
Big fan of the new sn set and format.

Our 'backup' Ramo is miles more stable than Pavelic and they have nothing close to Brodie, let alone Giordano. I'm lost as to how anyone can look at the Jets roster and think 'blowout' against ANY team. Seriously, no team should get blown out against the Jets. Maybe the Sabers or Oilers with the way they're playing... but not even that is a given at puck drop.
When the Flames beat Chicago? Absolutely.

I'm a Flames fan too but you should take off the homer glasses. Jacob Trouba says hi.

I understood our backup was Reto Berra.

Seriously, up and down the lineup how is Calgary worse on paper? IMO:
Gio trumps all d-men, even if Trouba = Brodie (I don't agree but whatevs).
Hiller/Ramo > Pa/Hutch
Monahan = Scheifle
Hudler > Frolik (or Wheeler if you like)
Backlund > Little
Winnipeg's really weak on the left esp. without Kane - Ladd is their best. Flames have JG, Bollig, Glencross (in that order).
And Byron/Colborne/McGratton/Bouma/Jooris - that's better depth

Geez you people.
They REPLACED ROBB KERR AND CHARLIE SIMMER. That alone is worth 12 years of somewhat crappy intermission commentators. What more do you want?!!
Sportsnet, I love you.

So... is it 9/10 times or 100%? Lol, the math here is confusing.

They should just hire all of cbc's internal staff and give them creative control.
Oh and of course fire their entire panel outside of Freidman.

That would make the most boring game interesting.

Hull, JR, PJ Stock, Hrudey - I like those guys generally. And Bryz on commentary? Yikes!

It's a stretch to call someone a homer because they say Brodie>Trouba. Yes they had similar point totals last year, and yes Trouba's upside is high, but right now Brodie>Trouba and it's not really that close. Certainly not close enough to warrant calling someone a homer. He's not even getting top 4 minutes or much PP time...
I'm really looking forward to hearing Ball & Hrudey this week for the Canes, Lightning and Caps....they are awesome

I have thought they have done a MUCH better job. Get Healy off the air and maybe replace their "HD' cameras and it will be almost on par with TSN.
Pretty much the only thing that has been getting me is a few angles they are choosing to show where the ice isn't very visible. When the Flames were trying to tie it in Columbus the camera angle was god awful in the final minute. Seemed like the glass was in the way so you had a hard time seeing the ice.
Other than that, I have been pleasantly surprised.

By right now you mean after 7 games into the season? Also, Trouba is 3rd on the team in ATOI and he's not playing with a special D like Gio. I don't know how you could even say it's not really that close. I would say they are a lot closer to comparison. I'm not saying Trouba is better, I'm just pointing out that they said the Jets have nobody like Brodie.

I'm not a fan of Damien Cox but at least he corrected himself last night.

Oy. Can't keep my Reto Berras straight from my Karri Ramos tonight. Forgive me."

We should buy Sportsnet. This is Calgary. The money is there.

Does Sportsnet/tsn etc.. really travel arena to arena with their camera's or does the Arena just provide them?

Right now meaning where they are currently at in terms of their performance as hockey players. Brodie has proven that he's a top pairing guy in the NHL after multiple seasons of splitting time and developing, while Trouba has played one season in the NHL. But yes in addition to the above, as you point out, 7 games into this particular season Brodie is lights out while Trouba hasn't done a thing.
I'm using the dobber hockey line combo tool that looks at the pairings and ice time over the last three games, and it looks like they're not using Trouba much.
http://hockey.dobbersports.com/froze...3gamelines.php
It's not totally out to lunch to make the comparison and I appreciate the fact that you're not saying Trouba is better, but really it's not close at this point and somebody saying that Winnipeg doesn't have anyone like Brodie is not being a homer.

No idea really but judging from the difference in quality I would assume they bring their own but whatever it may be, it isn't on par with TSN or former CBC broadcasts.

Dobbersports is incorrect. Last 3 games Trouba is averaging 20 minutes a game which is third for Dmen. Also in terms of where they are as hockey players, it's still not justifiable unless you're talking about this season after 7 games for Brodie and 5 games for Trouba. Plus if you factor in team success, does it mean that any Dmen that has more than 0 points is better than Trouba? Homerville.
