Would that be as good as Edmonton's 5 Giordanos?

Wow... great AAV and term.
I was expecting it to be a 5M x 5 years which would have still be great, but this is even better.
I hope he gets 7M+ on his next contract (meaning he is one of the top dmen in the league as he's already in the top 20 or so now).

Pretty much had to be in this area after the Brodin signing last week. Market was more or less set at that moment for Brodie.
Very good deal for both sides. he will still have another major payday if he stays healthy, cause he isnt gonna get any worse at the game.

wow ... I knew they gave him a lot of money, but for some reason I though it was 3 point something. The fact that we are locking up Brodie up for 5 years at Nikitin money is stunning ... and I thought the details of this extension couldn't get any better

Brodie is worth $4.5m right now on a post-bridge contract.
The 3 UFA years that are part of this are an absolute steal.

Wow, awesome deal for both sides. Nothing to dislike about it at all. It's a good deal now, it will be a steal by the 5th year.

The next one is Wotherspoon. Combine with the forwards and Flames turning into talent factory.

We won't have an answer for a while, 90% of Oiler fans have mysteriously disappeared over the last year. Once they couldn't take the stance of "we're doing an amazing rebuild and the Flames are just spinning their wheels!" guys like stang, Walter_Reed, etc etc just suddenly forgot they had accounts here.

Would have liked the max term, but I'm still pretty happy with this deal. Also, not that it matters, but any word on a NTC or anything like that?

Assuming Brodie signs that contract of 4.65m, our top pairing of Brodie/Gio is only costing us 8.67m per year for the next 2 years.

I'm extremely happy with this deal. Having a top 2 defenceman signed for 4.65 is awesome. This will come in handy when we are a cap team. Especially when we are competing with other top teams who are paying their top guys around the 8 million mark.

Not eligible until he reaches UFA years, so no for at least the first two years.
