Knight scored a beauty and Ferland has a good forechecking goal. Once again, the goalie seemed a bit weak. Point shots without traffic should not get through often.

Thiessen is Scrivens esque where he'll make a bunch of spectacular saves and then let in weak goals.

I gotta believe that the guys we expect the offense to come from are close. I'm dumbfounded that four games in we have 2 total points from Baertschi, Granlund, and Reinhart.

The good news is we showed a lot of improvement.

The bad news, we lost to the former team. Just embarassing.

You mean 2 pts from Granlund who by the way is a +1 and is the only player on the team with more than 1 point. Baertschi and Reinhart have no points which is really disappointing, but don't lump Granlund in with them.

Actually, most of our forwards are playing good surprisingly. However, the defense is so bad that we are having problems keeping the puck and that's leading to less chances for and more against. All of the games would've been 1 goal affairs if the goaltending wasn't dismal.

Poirier hasn't played yet, Sven has been really good. Just needs to break through and score, once that happens he'll likely go on a run. Sieloff has been okay, I haven't really noticed him much, which is a good thing. He did get his bell rung a bit in the last game (got nailed into the boards and then fell into the boards at the other end of the ice a few seconds later) but returned shortly after.

I think these two may go hand in hand. The top line with Reinhart, Granlund and Ferland seems to be getting it together and I suspect the second line with Baertschi and Knight will really get going as well when Poirier is available to play right wing on that line. Nothing against Van Brabant

Diana C. Nearhos @dianacnearhosMark Cundari is not on the ice for practice. He did not play in either game this weekend.

hmm maybe loaned to another team again?

According to Huska, Cundari and Hanowski were both out this weekend with injuries. Neither are considered major but enough to sit them out.

What's up with this team, I thought they were going to rip on the AHL. So far nothing, they've been terrible.

Except we can have pride because we aren't tanking on purpose to get a draft pick.

We earnestly and honestly just suck right now. I can live with that.

Not enough veterans on the team. This should be a lesson for all those Flames fans who want to trade off every vet on our team for draft picks.

IIRC Treliving said the main purpose of our AHL team is to provide experience for our prospects, so winning is secondary.

Yeah addy has been so disappointing so far. Especially when the locals are so ready to adopt this team.

Meh, its too early to render any verdict other than the first 6 games were bad. And that's pretty meaningless.
It will be interesting to revisit this after Christmas to see how the team is doing on the ice and in the stands.

I really like the Utica and Rochester rivalries that should develop. Lots of hate.

It is early. And I think it's safe to say that the goaltending will be better than it has been.
Having said that, several of us were concerned going into the season with the lack of veterans on the blueline. Pretty hard to build a team with the entire defensive corp being first and second year pros.

Add a vet on D and a vet in the top 9 (someone like Street) and they'll be fine.

Oh, and rookie coach - always a danger.

My recommendations are Diaz and Setoguchi.
