Yeah, let's not give credit to Kessel. It's because one of the NHL's top goalies sucks!

Oh my bad, I didn't know it was my job to pump Kessel's tires on a Flames message board. All right, Kessel shows great hustle on a play and snipes the GWG that Varly probably would have stopped if he would have kept his goalie stick on the ice.

There ya go. Feel better now, buttercup?

The above gif of Varlarmov... I keep thinking a crab or some insect based on the way he's moving.

Yeah he's also 27. A few more years and he will either have to get in shape or he will be finished as fat guys in their 30's don't perform like they did in their 20's as they get fatter and slower every year with age. The skills are there so if he ever decides to become a real pro and get in shape he should remain a top player but he wouldn't be the first lazy athlete to remain lazy throughout his career.

And as we all know, men tend to get in better shape as they age.

Yeah just ask Nik Lewis. I argued with Stamps fans for years that he needed to get in better shape or his career would end early and here he is at 32 years old and overnight went from perennial 1000 yard receiver to glorified blocker that may get open once or twice a game.

Maybe they already did do the whole Kung Fu Panda thing with Kessel. Big fat guy who wasn't good but he now pictures the puck as food and he's become good!

When your best player is a - player and leads the team, the team doesn't really have a chance.

Oh come on, not to de-rail but at 32 it is no surprise a guy like him who has had injury problems and takes a beating every time he touches the ball is declining.

32 is pretty old for a football player, and has had a great career. Injuries have caught up to him.

Oh and there is that MVP the Stamps have too.

32 isn't that old for a WR and Lewis has been relatively injury free over his career as the last one was his first major surgery of any kind since being in the CFL.

Kessel is good. He's also out of shape.
Who knows what the guy could do if he actually was in shape. He could probably be up there with Stamkos in that tier below Crosby as the best players in the game.

But hey.. if Leaf fans want to fine with him being an out of shape PPG guy... then yippee.

Also enjoying the Leafs non-stop PR moves talking about their analytics. Congrats Leafs for doing what every team in the league is doing.

The thing is, is he actually out of shape? He said he didn't skate much during the offseason, but he was one of the top rated players at the Leafs fitness camp.

And sure, maybe if he skated more during the offseason he would be even better. Or maybe it would completely screw-up his timing and release and he wouldn't be the same player.

I don't see why during his break time he has to be skating. As long as he is staying fit it's fine.

He does look pudgy, but that is probably just the way he looks.
