My bet is that Jones really doesnt need to be put on IR and isn't really that hurt however mgmt saw it as an opportunity to put someone on IR whom they may have healthy scratched to keep all of the prospects eyes open to the potential of being called up.
It would be deflating to be on the Addy Flames for 3 months where not 1 person is called up. At least now, anyone who was a bubble player has motivation to keep working their tail off and believe what the flames told them.

They might not be too upset about it but you can't fake putting someone on the IR. Besides you think Jones would be okay with it?

Glad to see him get rewarded...even if it's for a few games, it at least gives the young guys hope to be able to come up.

Is David Jones a bottom 6 guy? He is our highest paid forward on the team.

Are you serious? What does money have to do with it? David Jones is grossly overpaid and he's definitely a bottom 6 forward.

I thought he was playing on our 2nd line last year, but I actually don't really remember...

Jones was 10th in average time on ice amongst Flames forwards last season.

Uhh, yeah, no. The Flames are not going to risk severe penalties by cheating like that. More to the point, it is asinine to think that Jones and the NHLPA would go along with it. If Jones is on IR, it is because it is legitimate.
The rest of your babbling ignores last year. The guys in Addy already know spaces will open up as time and need permits.

I like Jooris and think he's going to be our Glencross of the future!

Well, Jooris is likely to draw in in place of McGrattan until Bouma is healthy enough to return. He takes Jones' spot on the roster, but top-six isn't the role the Flames needed to bring a body in.

To further your point, Jones is so injury prone he strained his neck reading this.

Good call up. After the preseason he had he deserves it. I hope Hartley puts together Gaudreau-Monahan-Jooris line together to see if they find their chemistry again.

Not surprised about Jones. Seems to be a matter of when, not if for that poor guy.
Jacked to see Jooris is the first call! He definitely earned it.
The big question is, what does Baertschi's dad think of this?

True, I just thought he had more of a role on this team, but was just a victim of injuries. I didn't think he is a 3rd/4th line guy, I was sure he was a 2nd line guy on the Flames, but I guess I was wrong.

You really think Jones cares about what the prospects think of the organization? He isn't helping the Flames by screwing himself over.

Curious to know wtf happened with Jones. He's played exactly 16mins in 1 game this season vs edmonton. Players with large contracts who are made of glass RGMG.
