Default WARNING: Severe Thunderstorm Warning!

1:55 PM MDT Saturday 1 July 2006
Severe thunderstorm warning for
City of Calgary issued

At 1:50 PM weather radar shows a strong thunderstorm just north of Cochrane. This thunderstorm is tracking southeastwards at 30 km/h. Dime sized hail was reported with this storm.

This is a warning that severe thunderstorms are imminent or occurring in these regions. Remember that some severe thunderstorms produce tornadoes. Listen for updated warnings.

That hail was pretty crazy - it must have gone on for at least a half-hour. Funniest thing was watching all of the golfers run for their lives.

I think Elbow Valley is cursed for Flames players.

Ville, Lydman and Deano all lived on Snowberry - all had their houses for ~ 1-2 years.

This storm actually delayed the Vipers game before the rain even started, the umpires were *that* worried about it. It hung around the University area for well over an hour.

I was just walking into the clubhouse at McCall Lake when it hit. Pretty funny watching the golfer on teh course scurrying when the hail hit.
