So I could figure out what the point of them is? I have been entirely open about everything so far this game (except my power) and will continue in that vein going forward.

The guardian power given to me did provide a report. It did not target the correct person though. It is unknown whether this was mafia redirect or failure of the power.

The eternals power from ecf targeted me, ecf reports that it failed. It appears that it did not work.

Well there goes the theory that the invites have stopped with Matt dead.

Rathji, I thought the general agreement in the town was to not accept these invites anymore - at least that's how I see it at this point. I suppose you have been offered a very powerful power for you to say you will take it. We've all tried to be transparent about joining since starseed's acceptance, so I'd like to hear a bit more about it. (GGG was not open with the town about the invite, but given the timing of when the invite went out I cannot condemn him for it).

I guess I wouldn't take it for two reasons:

1) The groups are distracting to the town
2) You appear to get an extra vote on you for joining

Just doesn't seem like a good idea, unless there is something said in the invite past what the town knows about these invites at this time.

My power they offered me is nothing that I recall being mentioned so far in terms of Eternal/Guardian powers, but as I mentioned, I won't discuss my powers as I don't feel it brings anything to the table at this time.

What would be the point of accepting for power, as I thought the powers they offered didn't work. Mazrim stated the gifts of powers were a contrived deceit. This was confirmed by ECF, as Pika ensured his power would have gone through, unless someone can also block my power.

Rathji, your choice. But it will just be another distraction.

So far, GGG's power didn't seem to work properly (although he believes he was able to track ECF instead of Puxlut) and ECF's poison didn't work (despite Squiggs96 saying his power would have made it impossible to block).

So a good chance you wont even use the power how you intended, it will needlessly lead to the "why did Rathji joining Eternals?" like we've seen each time. And it will give the excuse for the mafia to join these groups as well and grab these powers all the same - if they do work at all. These groups haven't exactly been exclusive invites recently.

He's about the most confirmed townie we have (who likely doesn't have a power left), yet he hasn't been offered an invite? Kinda goes to show that these invites aren't going to townies to benefit the town.

Back from BC, I'll have to read up from the weekend but here is my issue with the cults.

According to the past invites it says your win condition won't change, the issue is we don't know what the cults win conditions are. It makes no sense to have 2 groups giving out invites and powers to join just to help us kill all the mafia members. They have to have a secondary motive for wanting people to join them. I think it's highly unlikely that whoever is leading these groups is actually worried about killing scum, I believe their end game is to be the last cult standing.

Maybe I haven't received one because I said I wouldn't join already? I'd prefer that no one else joins any groups, what have they done to benefit the town so far? It's just a distraction

Rathji, why do you want to join? IMO having more players in groups provides no benefit, but does cause confusion and acts a distraction. That's not what the town needs. We're also pretty sure the eternals powers don't work

So the Eternals have popped up again? Unless Matt's sending out invites from beyond the grave (doubt it), I would assume my theory of cutting the head off the snake just got blown out of the water here.

For that reason, I will be unvoting starseed, however I still have some questions since he possesses ALOT of power for one person. I also really question why if he was so powerful, would he reveal it seemingly this early on. Saying you've become a distraction and then revealing you have a ton of powers doesn't really make you less of a distraction to me. Just a shift of focus for why you are distracting.

I am basically indifferent about joining, so without anyone pointing out a reason why I shouldn't, I figured I would learn more about it to reduce the uncertainty.

As a note, The invite was specifically crafted for me in the situation I am in, so I doubt any 2 invites are the same. Of course, most of the content is likely reused, as it was a virtual novel, taking more than one PM to send.

Hmm, my Guardians invite was 2 smaller paragraphs with one explaining how to use the power.

Although there was some fun flavour in my invite, aybe the Eternals is getting a bit more into his/her writing?
