I only caught the last two periods, but Ferland, Arnold, Acolatse, Agostino and Baertschi were the best players for the Flames IMO.

Here's the Trevor Gillies incident from tonight:
Honestly, I've met Trevor. He's a pretty decent guy. Always a nice guy off the ice, but I want this guy nowhere near my team. I stood up for him in the past by saying he could change, but this sh*t is just brutal. In the real world, that's an assault change.
I hope he's released soon.

I guess he doesn't go by the code of only fighting guys who are willing but on the other hand we don't know what the other guy was doing to deserve that either.

I'm for fighting, but I'm against what Gillies just did.
The only thing, like you said, is what did the other guy do to deserve that (if anything). The guy taking the beating was William Carrier who's a bit of a sh*t disturber, so we'll never know.

Is it wrong to want someone on your team to be suspended heavily and made an example of?
That's beyond wrong. There's no place for that in hockey. If you both want to fight until you can't feel your arms anymore that's fine. But grabbing someone who you've already dropped and was obviously trying to protect themselves and then slamming them into the ice? You need to be made an example of by the league's disciplinary system. That cannot be acceptable.

Is that the Carrier that was drafted last year?
Dumb stuff from Gillies. Hope he's suspended for that.

I wouldn't mind a 10+ game suspension for Gillies. Just stupid and not necessary.
By the way, that game was quite fun despite the score. The AHL games in my mind are more interesting than the NHL ones this year.

There are guys like Jarkko Ruutu who go around taking liberties like they're the toughest guy on the block and than when it comes time to back it up, they turtle.

Shut up OutOfTheCube. Go away!
In all seriousness, Armia impressed me big time.

Both are good teams this year, Flames will bounce back. Not really sure what was going on with them tonight, I was expecting a close game!

If Ortio wasn't bad tonight it probably would've only been 2 or 3-1 instead of a blowout.
Liked a lot of what I saw out of Griegs and Armia.

The Score has picked up the Gillies incident now.
Hard to imagine the AHL will just ignore it at this point.
Sucks for Adirondack as now they are in the news on back to back days for negative things. One of the boys needs to rescue a kitten from a swimming pool or something.
