Not the Flames best game overall, but they still pulled it together to beat the Oil.
I still can't believe what I saw during that final goal sequence.

11 pages in on the HF board, so much material to work with but my favorite so far is who was their worst defenceman, lot of solid points for Petry, Ferrance, Fayne and Schultz! To be fair it's kinda like ordering Ice Cream when there is 50 flavours, just too many options

I know I can't post them all, but this one is solid gold AND it came from a MOD
"It's getting to the point where these Oilers aren't only killing my interest in the Oilers, but my interest in hockey too.
I don't know how much longer the vortex of suck can hold me."

He's not had any comments so far, but I've been quietly pleased with Monahan. Given that he's been ill in the last few days, getting 2 assists(bare in mind he only managed 12 in total last season) and sitting on +2 is a good start from him. I don't mind so much if he doesn't get 20+ goals like he did last season, if he shows some development in his playmaking and assist game, I'll be happy. Him and Hudler showing some promising chemistry thus far I think.

Just watched the game. Flames didn't play great but buried their chances.
The Bouma, Colborne, Raymond line was very good in the 3rd period and Ramo was outstanding.
I don't understand the "best LW in the NHL" swooping back behind the net leaving Brodie wide open. I guess that's why he'll never win anything.

Not seen the game yet but any win is a good win, especially when it shows the Oilers how bad they really are and always will be.

I don't care if we go 8-74 this year if all 8 wins are against the Oilers.

If there is one thing that will always stay the same. It's that Edmonton is no good.

only watched the 3rd but that colborne, raymond, bouma line looked great, as did our top d pairing and ramo.
good to see the team get a W. Hopefully the team can put together more of a 60 game effort as it sounds like the first 2 games only had portions of actual solid play with a lot of "meh" outside of that.

If Katz had any brains he'd fire Lowe and clean house up there, and then purge the roster after that. The current group up there is just way, way, way too cool with being a bunch of losers. No fire, no heart, no nothing. It's funny to look at the 2012 draft when they pathetically got their third straight #1 overall. Every other team except Winnipeg in the top 10 of that draft has made the playoffs since. The Oilers embraced losing as a way to get better, instead it's simply made them losers.
Flames are already so much further ahead in their rebuild (and not about to start their third rebuild in 8 years) because they didn't embrace losing. Losing happens no doubt, but accepting it as being cool is why the Oilers are a dumpster fire.

between this preseason and the one from last night the oilers clearly have the hockey iq of a timbit hockey team. There is no way an NHL team should be this bad defensively.
