Yep, that's an elbow. Should be suspendable. Hope the NHL does the right thing.

You're taught that from Peewee.

His head being down is irrelevant to getting elbowed/forearm shivered in the face.

Not to get too worked up about this, but this was a "no call" on the play. Even if they thought it was a clean hit, wouldn't they have called embellishment? I can't fathom what the refs were thinking at all on this play.

The Caps are one of the few teams with a white 3rd jersey. They bring out these retro ones every now and then at home since the Winter Classic back in 2010-2011.

A suspension has an end date. A brain injury doesn't.

In the Jets/Coyotes game there were 4 goals in a minute and fourty eight seconds.
Three from the Jets, one from the Coyotes.

The Wild are beating the tar out of the Avs (5-0). Their top lines are pretty stacked. They arguably have 7 or 8 players that be on the Flames top line (Parise, Granlund, Pominville, Vanek, Koivu, Niederreiter, and Coyle). Then they have a pretty good backend, and yet they were barely a playoff team last year. That says a lot about the western conference, they'd be a top three team out east.
Now they do have questionable goaltending, but it will be interesting to see what Darcy Kuemper gives them this season, he played pretty well when called upon last year.

I think the good playoffs the Wild had last season will give them a lot of confidence they've been lacking, and a lot of experience to their young guys. They could be really strong this season.
